Death By Chocolate Zucchini Bread!

I made my first zucchini bread this year, with fresh zucchinis from my grandmothers garden! It was so good, so of course I had to search to see if there were any other kind of zucchini bread recipes. I found this chocolate zucchini bread recipe that I tried right after i made the regular zucchini bread! It was soo good, I probably will never make the regular kind of zucchini bread ever again!

Heres what you need:
1. 1/2 cup of melted butter (plus some more for brushing the pan with)
2. 1/2 cup of cocoa powder (plus a little more for the dusting the bottom of the pan)
3. 1 1/4 cup of all purpose flour
4. 1 teaspoon of baking soda
5. 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
6. 1/4 teaspoon of salt
7. 1 cup of sugar
8. 1 egg plus 1 egg yolk
9. 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
10. 2 cups of grated zucchini (usually 1 large zucchini or 2-3 small ones)
11. 2/3 cups chocolate chips

Heres what you need to do:
1. Preheat oven to 350*F. Butter and dust your loaf pan with cocoa powder.
2. In a large bowl mix together sugar and egg and egg yolk until smooth (about 1 minute)
3. Add melted butter and vanilla extract and mix until smooth. Then add your zucchini and then add flour mixture in three additions. Lastly fold in your chocolate chips!
4. Transfer batter to the loaf pan you previously prepared and bake for 50 minutes or until the center is no longer runny.
5. Once cooked, let it cool slightly in the pan and then transfer to a cooling rack.

Once thoroughly cooled, slice it and serve!! Enjoy and thanks for reading!

How about this, instead of me following this recipe, could you make me a vegan style zucchini bread and send it to me? I think it's cold enough that the bread won't spoil, it's around 40 degrees here, and since you're in the north im sure it'll stay 'refrigerated' XD But that recipe sounds good, and if I was not vegan I would definitely print this out and buy the ingredients to make it.

Great pictures here of your baked goods. I never thought about posting recipes here. I am sure there are tons of forums out there for posting recipes, now that I think about it. I wish I would have recovered or collected more of my grandmother's recipes. These types of breads, if they do not get finished off right away with big glasses of fresh milk, really keep pretty well when you freeze them to be thawed out on a later day.

You are really wonderful, this looks so nice and informating, practically I am quite certain it would be very useful for those that can be able to carry out the process. It's not that I don't want to do such but my work won't allow me the liberty and opportunity to do so. Therefore, I would probably be resorting to buying outside from either shopping malls or shopping outlets.

From my analysis of your post, it looked detailed enough, so that anyone who finds it interesting to carry it out won't be confused along the way. It very easy to understand as you employed simple diction in your explanation. You really did a great job, so permit me to say you should keep up the good job.

Im always looking for a foreign dish like this and I find it easy to prepare. In my country which is Philippines, this kind ingredients are hard to find but I guess this will be worth it because I can sense that this dish has a delicious taste.

I do like zucchinis, and I've done plenty of recipes with them. For the zucchini bread, Iv'e just cooked the simply, usual, plain recipe. But this idea of mixing it with chocolate, for sure is the first time I see it. I do love chocolate, but never ever have thought of mixing it with zucchini, so definitively I have to cook this and taste it. So far, and checking on your pictures, it does looks yummy and puffy. Thanks for the recipe, I have to try this one.

Wow! This looks so good and delicious! I love eating chocolates. Thank you for giving us the ingredients and things to do. I will definitely try it with my mother. I can prepare it specially in special occasions and can be a good source of money. But eating it is the best way to do with it.

I have never made a zucchini bread or eaten until now, it seems tasty but hard to do, I mean there are many ingredients that are very hard to find them here in my country.
