Reminiscing On My Softball Playing Days

I have played softball practically my entire life. I started at about 7 or 8, and I played for a league through my city. My mom would sign me up every year and I loved it!

My dad was the one that taught me the basics of softball. He showed me how to catch and how to hit the ball. I played softball with alot of the girls i went to school with so it was really fun! I played 3rd base and also pitched, but mostly played 3rd because I was the only one on my team that could throw the ball and reach 1st base from 3rd!

I loved playing 3rd base and being right there in all the action in the games! Although, 3rd base would be my first choice to play, i have played many positions, like the outfield, short stop and catcher. I wasnt catcher for long though, i was at practice one day and my coach put me as catcher with no gear on, the sun was beaming and i couldnt see. Needless to say, I took a softball to the mouth that day at probably 40-ish mph. I was hurt pretty bad, my mouth was really swollen for awhile. I ended up damaging one of my front teeth and needing a root canal. That was painful.

I still played though, getting hurt never stopped me from playing! I have broken my ankle while playing and continued to play for the rest of the inning! LOL And then went to the ER. My mom never stopped me from playing softball either because i was always getting hurt, she always signed me right back up when i was well enough! =] Softball isn't really as dangerous as I have made it seem, it's really fun and that's what matters! =]

I wish i would have known you in these days! Your probably would have thought i was too crazy then buahahaha! You are a tough cookie i will say that we have been through alot and ive seen you endure some pain. Remember that time you broke your toe at the red roof in Massachusetts?? Yea i had way to much to drink that night and i actually couldn't even speak. All i remember is you walking it off and i could not believe it your toe was purple. We should have sued Redroof we probably would have owned one by now. Anyway reliving the early days is always nice i try not to do it to often because i have a current life thats really going on lol. I cant complain i love the way my life turned out for sure. You have one hell of an arm and all clowns at any carnival dunk tank should be worried when you step up to the plate.

I envy you quite alright, you really had a lovely, lively and fun filled childhood when growing up unlike the rest of us that were almost a prisoner in our homes as children.

I would give anything to have such experiences that you had. It's very interesting and enjoyable to engage in lots of playful act as a kid while growing up. It helps so much in a child's mental development, psychological improvement and physical activity.

I have never played softball! It's not really a thing here but it would be really cool to try out different sports during PE classes at school. We usually played volleyball or basketball. I wasn't good in any of them, I honestly prefered football (soccer) but it wasn't considered a game for girls (I have no idea why).

Never got to play softball, it wasn't my dad game like the golf ball so I don't really know much about it.My dad taught me how to play the golf and I really came to love it and luckily for me my husband loves it and I continue to love watching him play just like my dad and he is also teaching our kids,

Me too, haven't played a softball game yet, but by the looks of what you have said, it seems like it's a fun and a very competitive game. Competitive games are the best for me, like it brings out the best in you, like outside the game you're sweet and kind but when you play you're like, "what's inside the game or court. stays on the court".

I like softball too. I remember playing it with my friends. Those were the memories. It's much safer compared to baseball. I don't like the idea of getting hit with something as hard as baseballs.

It's great when you have your own hobbies. It is very important to hone your skills regularly so that your hobbies do not bring you injury. A couple of years ago my father introduced me to the game of Pickleball. Since then, I regularly spend my leisure time playing. Found the best Pickleball paddle here to hone my skills
