Your thoughts on Country music?

I have been a fan of Country music now ever since I can remember. Unfortunately Country music is not as popular in the UK as it is in so many other places so when I tell people that I am a fan of Country music I tend to get some funny looks like they do not know what I am talking about.

When it comes to Country music I like to listen to artists such as Alan Jackson, George Strait, Luke Bryan, Rascall Flatts, Florida Georgia Line, Hunter Hayes, Chris Young, Blake Shelton and that is just to name a few. Having a few friends from the US always helps when it comes to finding new Country music to listen to as they always tend to point me in the right direction.

Are you a fan of Country music? If so, who is your favourite Country artist?

I am not a fan of new country music. I do however like the old stuff that my parents listened to. I really like George Jones, Conway Twitty, and country artists such as that.

While there are certain times that I can enjoy country music, for the most part it isn't my cup of tea. You could say that I'm somewhat ignorant to the genre so my opinion can be considered null, but all of it just sounds so very similar to me. I feel like if I've heard one country song, I've heard them all. That being said, as I had stated there are certain times when country music strikes me fancy. Typically it is after I have had a few drinks and might be feeling particularly down that day. Country musicians can do sad songs pretty well.

I would say that country music is one of those that I am and am not a fan of. Very non-committal I realize. I think it's because it's music that I can and do sometimes enjoy, but a genre that I have to be in the mood for in order to enjoy it. Of course, my music selection in general is often dictated by my mood. If I'm feeling angry, then it's definitely metal music. If I'm feeling calm, probably classical. If I want to dance, I usually prefer Euro pop or some favorites from the 80's and 90's. Where does country music fall in to this? Generally I like country music when sitting around a campfire with friends... it just tends to add to the ambiance in its own way.

I sadly can't say that I'm a country lover or a fan. It's probably one of the music genres that I listen to the least. The main reason is that country is REALLY unpopular here. It's nothing like in the United States. I am not sure why though. The only country songs that I know are the ones that make it onto our radio shows... so if I'm driving in my car and a country song comes on, I listen to it but otherwise, I prefer other types of music. More mainstream and old rock.

Same here. I don't often listen to country music. Sometimes if I get so intrigued by it, I would search only the famous ones instead of the newer ones. But I must admit, country music really has feels unlike any pop music out there. Country music gives you chills and would make you listen to the lyrics even more and understand them aside from enjoying them.

I grew up in a small town in northern Idaho; so western music was what was mainly being played on the radio out there, and during those times. It was right after WW2; so they were starting to make some cheerful songs as opposed to the patriotic (but often sad) songs about the war. I remember one of my favorites was called "How Much is That Doggie in the Window", and I think that it was either Doris Day or Patty Page who sang this, probably Patty Page. She also had a huge hit with her song called "Tennessee Waltz". Some of the old time western songs were real cowboy songs, sung by famous singers of the day, like Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. Western music nowdays is a lot different than the old cowboy songs and trail songs that originally was considered western music. One of the biggest western songs back then was called "Back in the Saddle Again" which was sung by Gene Autry. Nowdays, a song like this would never even get noticed in all of the lost-love or drinking songs that passes for western and country music.

I usually like to listen to country music, it's one of my favorite genres. I like how it soothes the soul and how music tells a story in a short amount of time. Though country music is already old, and many may not see country music as their cup of tea however country music is really good to listen though.

Country Music comes from the heart.
The best country music comes from the heart. Listen to songs like “Live Like You Were Dying” by Tim McGraw or “Raymond” by Brett Eldredge and hear the sincerity in every word.

I am not a very big fan of contemporary country music, but I do really enjoy the older more Classical country music stylings of greats such as Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Sr., Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, etc. The newer crossover country genre just does not have the soul or songwriting, if you ask me, of the greats which came before it.

Yes, I am a big fan of country and rock music so I like bands that mix both styles a lot. One of my favorites is Texas Hippie coalition. I just love how they mix the roots of traditional music with the novelty of guitars, drums, and distortion. Very nice style.

I usually don't listen to country music. I think the only artist of country music that I used to listen to was Taylor Swift and I am talking like 7 years ago haha. I love Her music at the beginning of her career when she only sang country music. One of my favorites song of her is "Love story". What a beautiful song. Nowadays she sings another type of music.

Not a fan at all. It's my least favorite genre of music. I can find a classical song, a ballad, any song or songs from a genre of music that I like. I like a few Britney Spears songs, Taylor Swift songs, etc. I don't like all of their stuff but I can name at least one Taylor or Britney song I like. I cannot name a single country music song I like.

I used to dignify Lady Antebellum few years back, I love Just a Kiss and Need You Now. The latter actually won 4 Grammy's during its holy year which included Song of the Year.

I was like the no. 1 fan of Taylor Swift when she did country music on her early years. Despite her shift of genre, I also listen or even sing her country songs every now and then. I won't forget how TF made me feel fondly of her and her songs during those years.

I'm not a fan of this kind of music. I know it is a very popular genre in the US but it is just not my cup of tea. I've listened to many country songs in my life but none of them was enough to catch my attention and make me appreciate this genre.

I love it! Not only does it have that nice authenticity in it's music, but also the lyrics are really good. I even listen to country music of the 80s, such as of Dolly Parton, Randy Travis, and Alabama. Country music though is not really popular here in my place, unless you count Taylor Swift's music. It seems Taylor's music can't be really categorized as country music anymore, I think it's become more of an EDM kind of style. I have nothing against her though, it's just that I'm not much of a fan her latest works, than I used to be during her early days as a country singer.

I am not a big fan or lover of the country music but I prefer to listen to it to the rock music. I hate rock music, is too lousy and violent. Country music is slow and when you listen to it it makes you feel peace and connected with the old traditions.
Even if I don't listen to it very often it feels nice to hear it from time to time.

Not really a fan of country music, as it's boring to my ears. The instruments used in its sounds production is annoying to me.

I think in my family, it's only my kid brother that actually enjoy listening to country music. How he finds that enjoyable is worrying to me because I see no fun in it.

I like country musics too, but i love Rnb more since i grew up with a brother that loves rnb music. When it comes to country music artist like blake shelton, rascall flatts and Hunter hayes. Country music is pretty relaxing and the lyrics have a lot of messages. I don't get why they don't like country musics though, Some country musics are very religious which is nice to listen to.

I'm not really a fan of country music. In my opinion music ,is supposed to make you happy. With country music I find that musicians complain a lot and moan. The music is normally about a girl or a boy who left and the person they left is missing them . Or about a musician that is missing and longing for his home town. This is not the kind of music that lifts you up or inspires you. I find instead this music makes one nostalgic. However there is a new breed of country musicians whose music I don't mind ,one bit, like Shania Twain, Blake Shelton , Kane Brown and Carrie Underwood. I call this modern country music.

It was my least favorite genre until I lived with a female friend in the Philippines who loved it. She gave me a mix CD with his favorites. It became something we bonded over. Now, I love it because of the stories. I like the way it is not just a jumble of words to make a chorus and verses; it's a story about something or someone or somewhere. Plus, it's easy to sing along to and I like line dancing. Your thoughts on Country music?

I love a bit of country music but more if the lyrics are emotional at least something about love and romance.I could listen to music if I really want to liven instead of the noise called Jazz music(no pun intended). It helps to keep me going.

I am not really a fan of country music, but if it's taylor swift and leanne rhymes songs, I do listen to it. I love their songs. Before, I really don't know that they belong to country category especially taylor's songs. I just learned about it when I joined on a little singing contest on smule. I am just curious now, how will you define a country song?

When the first time i listened to country music it made me react awkward but as time passes by and when influenced by other people and friends online i fall into it. I love country music but on selected artist only and it sends me to the future. The hits on it makes me feel like i'm living somewhere in a place of dreams. I love the songs of Charlie and i'm a fan of him. Most of country music sounds bad for me i hate its rhythm and tunes and i don't want to post here the title specifically. Whats important also is the meaning of songs and how you feel what the feeling of songs want to send to listeners.

If you live in the UK and tell people you're a fan of country music, sure you'll gonna get some funny looks, as they lean more toward heavy stuff like Rock and Metal. I like Country myself, especially old tunes without a Pop or Rock flavor, but new country is also good for parties and having a good lough.

Not really a fan of country music at all I just don't like how the sounds goes. I remember when I did try to listen to a country music and the moment he started singing it just gives me a different kind of vibe and a headache. Don't hate me just because I don't like the taste of their music, it just really depends on a person.

I enjoy country music as well as the other genres of music. I'm a person that has a favorite genre I just want to listen a good music. Whenever it's country, rock, hip-hop or trap as long as it is good to hear I will able to enjoy it. Most of the country musics are love songs and about life. So I think that's educative I guess ?

Country music is soft and laid back type. And it's definitely something to listen to. There are some of the sub categories of it like blue grass music. And that can be worth listening too as well. I personally prefer to listen to some of those type of the music categories. And it'd be not that good enough on that part all the time. Old country music was good. But now pop and the country pop is becoming sensation.

Country music, as mentioned here, is my favourite music because it's accompanied with selected and heart-reviving musical instruments and full of inspirations. It's so touching and life-giving. Country music has been in existence ever since the inception of music generally and had gone a long way in the course of changing lives and winning souls. Country musicians are all over the nations and perform according to inspirations. The style of music is not physical, but supernatural.

Rascall Flatts is the only name that is familiar to me. I have been listening to country music and I really like them. I have never taken time to master the names since rock genre is my favorite. I can still listen to country music for hours because I find them to be soothing.

I only know one song of Florida Georgia Line, but i really liked it. T. Swift used to sing country songs and that is one of the reasons why I got hooked with her genre. But after a while she seemed to deviate from it and became pop. I missed her old songs. Her songs are still good but I like her sound better before.

Well, I am not really into the country music. My boyfriend on the other hand it is a fan of it. We managed to discuss this fights about what music we will listen on the road and he agreed to take turns. We listen one of my favorite songs and then we listen one of his. It is better for us, as we start liking each other music. We downloaded a great mp3 that allows us to download all the genres of music and you may just click here and see it.

Like it and like it a lot. A lot of unknown, but talented performers got a unique opportunity to be heard all over the country. On the radio, listeners did not want heavy music, so the simple, rhythmic, musical composition in a somewhat original folk style appealed to many. I came across music promotion companies who are just promoting such artists who love folk music. It used to be a simple folk music genre, but gradually the style developed, became more diverse, deep, and became popular worldwide. I consider it a classic
