As a matter of fact, you can still earn money from your passion online. You can do covers, showcase your talent in song writing by posting a video in YouTube. The thing here is that you just have to compete with many talented people and earn viewers in YouTube. I hope you become successful as well in this field. You know, it will be great knowing the fact that you enjoy what you do and at the same time earn money from it.

Yes, you're right. I do have cover videos uploaded on Youtube but doesn't gain a vast numbers of viewers and subscribers. I still can't monetize my Youtube channel. However, I'm enjoying working out in the field of music outside the online world. I do have some gigs on bars as well as on wedding and thanksgiving events.

Writing a song is really fun. Sometime all the things that I can't say, I divert it into a song. Being a song writer or musician is really priceless. If someone listening to your songs or appreciated your song are enough and can't compare to money.

I also love music but I don't know how to play any instruments. I can only write lyrics and imagine tones and I envy you for having such talent. As an addition to Vinsanity's advice, you can actually upload your compositions on Soundcloud because from what I've heard, a lot of recording companies actually visit Soundcloud to look for some good music that they eventually try to buy from composers. They also, sometimes, recruit recording artists from there.

That's a great idea, i'm a musician myself and along with my band mates tried to have a carrier with it. Although it was the most fun days of my life, it didn't came thru just because we have to go our separate ways. One of the major reasons why we separate is financial stability, although we have some good profit back then it's not just enough to support a family specially when your just starting a career. It would be different when we don't worry about money.

That's absolutely right. Making a living with music particularly in a band doesn't really work out for many, especially when you are already having a family. It doesn't make you financially stable. In fact, it's really fun but in terms of earning money from it, could be struggling.
Yet, if money were no object, it really works out well.

Yup, it would take three or more persons to make a band. Also you and your band mates really needs experience to be able to perfectly sync your playing. Chemistry between your band mates takes a lot of time. The problem is if one of your band mate decide to leave because he/she needs to work.

That's a great thing to hear because it's always nice to hear that people have passions for things like music. Like some of the other users have already said, there is nothing stopping you from trying it out because you could post your music on sites like YouTube or even SoundCloud. It would allow you to make some money from your passion. You could even try it out as a part-time activity/job until you start making more.

It would be a lot of fun to be a singer. I wish I was blessed with the talent that it takes..however, it is a very competitive business with not only talent but luck needed. There are alot of talented people out there but only a very few make it in the industry.

Yes, that's true. There are lot of good singers out there who were never given the chance or opportunity to be known. There are lots of competition in the music industry. But if money were no object, being passionate in music can be a thing.

I guess the perfect job for you is a field journalist because based from what I've observed from those journalists, they kind of like visit a lot of countries to cover some important occasions or just research about the country or do some documentaries about it. If ever you're not into journalism, you can also opt for aviation, you can fly wherever you want by being an aircraft pilot

Something that allows me to travel around the world. I am a licence teacher but still in doubt if I'll continue my profession or not. I want to do what I love the most, I want to learn new things, meet new people and working that involves traveling will do. I used to work in a call center and I must say I enjoyed it so much because that is what I enjoyed and loved doing. I want to interact with new people and learn many things from them. I don't want to be stuck up inside a classroom, It just felt suffocating for me.

I was previously working in the Complaints department in a bank and that was the worst job I ever had. I was very unhappy and depressed. After careful consideration, I decided to leave that job and I started working as a freelancer both online and offline. I now work as an online English tutor. I am also an online seller and blogger. I love the job that I am doing although it can be challenging at times. When I graduated many people actually told me to take whatever job I get and this is what I actually did and it was such a bad move.

I never had a regular job. Well, I did try a regular job where you have to go to work every day and sit all day long working on the tasks given to you. However, I had to leave the job just in two weeks. I have always been a freelancer and I love my job. I do various kind of freelancing jobs, from writing to internet marketing and web designing. Maybe I'm dumb but I would honestly stay right where I am, in freelancing. I just love my job so much. Sure, there are some disadvantages but any job will have those. The beginnings are the hardest but once you get going as a freelancer and establish a reputation the work that you do can make you quite nice money. My favorite thing is the flexible schedule.

I don't think it's dumb to choose what you like and I don't think you're dumb. You're a strong person in my own opinion. I mean, if I were in your shoe, I'd be scared. I'm actually too scared to rely my earnings with a freelance job because even if I'm still a student, I already have a list of responsibilities waiting for my salary as it needs huge financing. I hope to also be as brave as you are. I also agree that in time, the earnings we get in freelancing will get bigger as our reputation increases and that I hope will the future of every freelancers out there - to become successful.

You sound like me. When I completed my university education, I was already earning better than a teacher by freelancing in papers. This I continued working as a freelancer and never considered joining a regular job. Freelancing is a career where you are unable to build a secured income. Your income will always fluctuate and most of the time you will remain jobless. In the times, when I do not have any assignments, I feel like joining a regular job, however, I cannot imagine myself working under people.

Freelancing is not a bad option at all. It's much better than a typical 9 to 5 job as you have more freedom. The best thing about freelancing is that you don't have an angry boss telling you what to do! However, it takes hard work and patience to build a reputation in freelancing.

I have been a freelancer for more than 10 years and I can tell you so many disadvantages about freelancing. Most of the people say you have flexible working hours. However, this is not true. When you get the freelancing job, you will have to work hard to complete in time. If the delivery time is two hours later, you might have to work even in the middle of the night. Well, you also have an angry boss. Your clients are your boss and you have to play by their rules. If you disagree you will be out of job.

Yes, there are some disadvantages of freelancing just like you mentioned. When I'm working for someone, I'll certainly have to meet deadlines or else I might get fired. And I'm not good at meeting deadlines! Thus, I think it is better to have my own successful online business because in that way I will be able to have full control over my life.

Do you actually have a full control over your life even if you have your own business. Imagine you have an ecommerce business, by having this business of your own do you think you have full control. I don't think so. let me explain. Some one buys from your store, you have to deliever the product quickly so that you gain trust. Quick delivery means you dispatch the product as soon as you get orders. You are still following other orders even if you have your own business.

It is better to have your own work instead of working for other people. However, before you make choices, you need to find answers to a couple of questions. For instance, are you looking for financial securities? You have 50-50 percent chances of success when you have your own business. However, when you join other company, you will surely be drawing a salary.
If you want to have your own business, you need to be prepared to take the risk. However, there is no risk in working for others. These are just a few examples.

When I completed my university education, I decided to work as a writer as I was already publishing 3-4 articles every month. I even had a few manuscripts of short stories and novels. I had already published a book. I saw becoming a writer was easy for me because I had a journalist father as a guide and I was already a published writer. Yes, engaging in it or any other art form as a paying hobby is one thing, but making enough money to support yourself and others is quite a different thing. Not many are able to do this. I think this is how the whole "starving artist"got coined.

If money is not your major concern, you can publish your articles, books, and ebooks on the internet for free and you might even make money from selling your articles and books. You can make money as a writer, however, writing is the lowliest paid professions. You can create a logo in 5 minutes and make $5. However, you have to spend a couple of hours to research and write an article and it is difficult to make $5.

I work outside but it would not be classified as a "real job." It involves writing as a primary enterprise but it is not strictly about writing. The writing is in terms of reports. It is OK, but creativity is at a minimum.

It is true that many people work because they are drawing a salary and not because they actually love the job. However, you may not like the job, still enjoy doing it. If you have no option to quit and you have to do the job even though you hate it, the only way to avoid such situation is to accept what you are and accept the job as a gift. I will still prefer animation because even before I graduated college this has been my dream job for a long time. Now i am still trying to study animation for me to be able to work in a company. I also have a plan to take some classes about animation so that I have certificate and hoping also that they will like me to enter to their company since sometimes they hire animators from their own students who has the potential to be animator in their running business company.

I am also interested in learning animation. In fact, when I was in college I was dying to learn animation. I even went to the designing school for admission. However, the course was so expensive that I could not enroll in the program. One of the reasons why animation courses are expensive is because you will have to get animation programs like Maya and 3D Max which are very expensive.

Yes I do agree with you. Here in Philippines, I just knew that there are other schools offering a free admission. How I wish I knew it before and if that happened I would really grab the opportunity. For now I have some important things to do first so I cannot really focus on that thing. I do have Maya here and I downloaded it free from their site. My former classmate in highschool gave me the link for free practice. You just have to sign up from their website. You can only use this software for only two years.

Learner editions are definitely cheaper than the professional editions. Therefore, I can get learner edition and learn Maya or 3D Max. However, having passion on the subject does not mean you will be able to learn it. You also need dedication. You need to spend a great deal of time learning it. Currently, I am more focused on bettering my existing skills rather than acquiring new skills.

After writing on many websites and for many clients, I decided to launch my own blog in 2015. The primary motive of launching my own blogs was to establish an earning stream on my own. I thought having my own blogs will liberate me from writing on websites and for clients for pennies. However, my blogs are not earning for me. My blogs became more of a financial burden. Well I have kept my blogs live but at the expense of my earning. Starting on your own is a difficult path and not everyone can succeed.

I am a CPA by profession and I admit that it's not the best fit job for my personality. It is a high paying career though and I can't totally give it up. If I had the choice and money is not a consideration, I'd be a paleontologist, archaeologist, or a historian. I can spend years, or my lifetime, investigating physical evidences of prehistoric life and writing about it. I'll probably spearhead missions to uncharted places where there are likely to be archaeological finds. I could be an Egyptologist and who knows, I might just stumble into the elusive remains of the Queen Nefertiti. I'm an old soul, I guess.

Well I honestly can't say that I don't like my job. I mean I write about random content on the internet for a living. It is by no means ideal, as more often than not I have to talk about stuff that I'm absolutely not interested in, but I really can't complain when I compare it to the work some people have to do out there, or even work that I've personally done.

That being said, the ideal work for me would be getting paid to either run my own personal blog, or be a writer for someone else's blog, specifically on the topic of mental and physical wellness. That's what I'm passionate about, and while I certainly don't mind putting information out there for free in order to help people, it wouldn't hurt to make some money to pay the bills.

My dream job is to have a few blogs that earn me enough revenue to pay my entire bills. I have published books on Amazon. I'm a bit like yourself in this regard. I've been doing a whole lot of stuff on the internet, because I found that if you're not financially successful enough in one field alone, combining many can give you the results you're looking for. Like I said, while it isn't really anything to complain about, as the work isn't that hard, it would be nice to get a nice, steady income just from one place so I don't have to be running all over the internet and trying to make a living.

Maybe one day. I hope your dreams come true as soon as possible, my friend.

If money was my main concern I would have joined a publishing company rather than a freelancer. When I completed my education, I had an MBA degree and a diploma in Creative writing. I also had two years experience writing for newspapers. I would have easily accepted into a major publishing company. Instead, I decided to push forward with my freelancer. I was young and I thought I can do everything. These days, I am more concerned about money that I was at the beginning of my career. I still don't want a regular job but it would be better if I could develop a steady income source and do not have to run here and thee to make money.

It would be so cool to work for a comic book store! I love the atmosphere in my local comic shops, and if I knew more about comic lines and card games, I probably would have worked at one while I was in school in a heartbeat.

That's a niche area to work it, and the communities always seem so tight-knit. It'd be cool to work for or own a place that is a hub for people who share such a common interest in comics and action figures. Is there a market for that where you are?

Hi there TheArticulate yes there's a pretty big sleeping market here in the Philippines for American comic books and action figures, which was first introduced here by American G.I.'s during WW2.

The reason why it's sleeping because, in the 70's up to the late 80's and early 90's, a lot of students collected DC , Marvel and others like Archie, Epic, Dark horse etc. Then the comic industry took a dive in the 90's by that time all the 80's collectors are then gainfully employed and have started their own families, fast forward to the present most of us now have time on our hands to go back to our childhood hobbies and it would be great to have a comic book and hobby shop for all these old time collectors to congregate in.

I'm still a student but next year, hopefully, I'll be working in the same institution where I'll graduate. I'm actually an Education student and next year I'll be a teacher after studying my degree for four years. I took this course because it pays a lot. However, if money wasn't a problem I would love to work as a TV or Movie Producer. However, that kind of job is too risky because there's no assurance that everything I'll produce will become a hit/blockbuster. But, if only given a chance, I want to try that job because even though teaching pays a lot, I still want to do something that would really make me happy. Something that would fulfill my dreams.

Actually, I see nothing wrong with doing the work that brings the money, but the truth of the matter is that we get bored at doing such job for a longer period of time as the passion is not there. So, I would advise that as you take up this job to be a teacher, you should create time to be building yourself for the work you need as a TV presenter which is awesome as well.

That's definitely true. Even I, as a student, I see a lot of adults working as if their souls are gone. They don't work with passion and they look like robots doing the same things and routines everyday. I also hope to give time for what I want to do even if I'm working as a teacher and I feel thankful for your advise and encouragement because I'm actually afraid of what's gonna happen after my senior year which is next year.

That's right @Barida. I actually realized that even if we're struggling with the things that we only do for money, at least if we think about the people (specifically our family) that may gain from our struggles, everything will still be worth it, thus making us feel the happiness and fulfillment that we think we can get from our 'dream jobs'. I guess the question should be revised in to something like this "If you could be selfish and money won't matter, what job would you really want?".

This is really easy for me to answer. If there were not restraints on me financially or in any other aspect, I'd be a filmmaker for Hollywood. Either directing or screenwriting for films, it wouldn't matter to me, I'd just love to be part of the creative process behind a big box film.

I mean, really, the job wouldn't even have to be working for Hollywood. Since money is no object, I could be an independent filmmaker and work to produce films with my friends locally, which would be a dream job for sure!

I have the same dream job with you, to produce films. However, this world keeps telling me I'm broke enough to just even spend a penny for a short movie production. Being an office worker does make ends meet. But if I could, I'd want to be a regular freelance writer. I don't really plan on pursuing it since my job takes up most of my time. By the time I'm home, I'm physically, mentally, and emotionally drained. But during my free time, I do get some liberating writing zone.

Writing is one of the best ways that I get to express myself and that is why I don't take it lightly whenever I am giving the opportunity to begin my writing. I think all of us feel great whenever we have time for writing. It's a blessing to get to write to your heart's content. I mostly do some free writing where I pour my ideas until I've written all of them. I do a bit of editing with the time I have left.

I think I will choose the lifeguard in the beach. It's looks boring but I really like that. All I have to do is to sit in the corner, watch the people, waiting for someone who needs help. I'm able to sleep while working, and I'm surely will enjoy the view.

I don't think lifeguards sleep while working lol, but yeah being a lifeguard seems pretty chill in most days, but when action calls, you really have to work hard to keep people safe, and it can be also a risk to your own life during the job.

. I saw a lot of lifeguards doing that. You're right, that's the problem about that, you need to risk your life by saving people. It's actually alright, that's gonna be my job. Actually I think the average of people who needs lifeguard's help is just one per day or just less than one. I need to work out my body just in case.

Oh, I guess I just haven't been near the water/enough lifeguards recently. But yeah, people are generally more concerned about their safety now so fewer people actually need saving. Still, any job which requires you to save lives can be pretty stressful.

I hope that you don't ever become a lifeguard because you are not meant to sleep whilst working lol. That would be a huge mistake and very dangerous to do because there could be someone drowning in the sea or in trouble and you wouldn't even be able to know because you are too busy sleeping

Life in the beach is really great, there's nothing like being near the sea. I would really like to own and manage a resto bar inside or near a beach resort that would be pretty fun, because most of my customers would be beach goers and I just love meeting people.

Being a world renowned psychologist is one of the best things that I enjoy doing and one fact that I've come to notice is that many of the people in the world are in dire need of people to talk to and share their problems with.

This is the reason we always have that situation where psychologist are one of the best paid for they have a big role to play as long as the world is concerned.

If I could have any job in the world, then I would love to be a F1 driver or just a racing driver in general. I just love cars and it would be a dream to be able to drive expensive cars in races and even winning those racing competitions. The funny thing is that this job would actually be pretty good in terms of money.

Working something that is going to rise your adrenaline up is definitely a great choice for a job, this is also a career option for me, because I like activities that make your blood boil, because they make you feel alive. An important requirement for a job is to make you feel like you are improving and not just staying in the same place

I love my job however the salary is not that good. What I do is I look for ways to earn extra income. I love writing contents and blogging the reason why I entered as well the world of freelancing. My point is, you can always find ways to enjoy and at the same time earn money. You just have to be resourceful and practical.

Same here. Not a lot of people can do that. Being practical and resourceful involves creativity. You'd have to think outside the box. Sometimes even outside of your comfort zone. Overcoming this obstacle will lead to success and a fruitful career in life.

I'd be a marine biologist, since I love nature and research about the marine wildlife and I could do that job every day even without a break. It's sad that research, in general, isn't supported in our country so there really isn't any big opportunity for such endeavors.

Same here, i would love to be a biologist specially in marine life preservation and study. If i have this job, its like an everyday joy for me. There's a lot out there that is needed to be studied and at the same time need to be protected...and i love to be one of them.

That's a great job because you could do a lot of good for animals and marine wildlife. Doing something that you love and can enjoy doing is such a good thing because not only is it good for you but it can also be good for the wildlife that you care for.

Well I bet if you ask me this on different days you will probably get different answers, but I also suppose most people are like that. I would really like to do something with animals though, and I would say vet but that might require a bit more work that I might be in for.

I currently don't have a job and finished a BS Accountancy course because according to my parents, it is really easy to earn money through this field eventually. Anyway, I already learned to love this field but if I'm going to answer your question, I think I will pursue teaching. I love sharing my knowledge and feel the satisfaction that I am going to teach someone and he/she is learning from me.

I'm passionate about food and given the chance owning and managing a Pizza Place is another dream job option that I would really like.

Pizza is my favorite food and I can make one from scratch, from making the dough to the sauce and toppings to baking it. It's one of those things that I love doing.

The current economic situation of my country and corruption in all arms of government have made it almost impossible to get a job befitting of one's skills and profession but a job of cut and joint for even university graduates. Currently, I'm not sat with my job but I don't have a choice, if I would have my way, I would be a software developer and IT specialist.

Hi Martinsx1. That's really sad to hear. That's actually a problem in my country as well. Our economic situation is not that good that most degree holders don't have jobs that suit their skills and their college degrees. Actually, some Bachelor of Education graduates, due to the lack of vacant positions and small salary, often choose to work at a BPO company because it pays a lot than most schools in my country even if it's not related to their bachelor degree.

I like my current job, and if nothing major changes I will do it till the day I die, but if I could just jump to something else it would probably be something to do with music. Maybe run a little record / instrument shop somewhere, but since those are not profitable nowadays it would be a bad idea otherwise.

Nice choice, I forgot that. Being in a cruise ship actually is my dream and I think it will remains dream. Only rich and famous people can only afford that and if you're not. much better to work in a cruise ship. My brother is still luck because he is seaman and I think it's almost the same, although in not luxury ship.

This is so me! I've always wanted to be those guys that you see on TV, that can travel all around the world, showing all the monuments, parks, museums, restaurants, guiding you through all the places you should go at least once in your life. In fact, my favorite memories are the ones that I have from cruises, I want to go back so much.

Becoming a successful Digital Nomad is among my top 3 dream jobs. Being able to work and earn a living while travelling the world armed with a smartphone, phablet and a laptop I think would be the new norm in the near future. I would like to live like that, although I have a family, but I think, I could travel a third of the year.

I think being digital nomad is really hard. The reason being you need regular gigs from the people. And some of the time it can be really good in terms of the lifestyle. But very few people have managed to pull off that lifestyle. And one needs to do a lot of hardwork for that.

I think I maybe in the field of publishing companies especially in creating a manga (japanese comic book). I dream to become one of their editors since I was young and started watching anime and reading manga. It would be awesome also if I become a translator from Japanese to English but I think it'll take time since I'm not yet that educated in Japanese Language. But as of now, having a business is more important to me because I believe it'll lead me to become rich and I can be able to provide jobs for people as well.

Actually, money is always my primary concern. If I am not receiving money, I lose interest in the job. If I get more money for the job, I am more interested. For instance, I am more interested in doing the job that pays me $10 rather than doing a job that pays me $5 even though I might be more comfortable working on $5 paying job. I take a lot of interest in writing in religion. However, I will be more than happy writing in real estate even though I have no patience in writing real estate.

If money were no object, I would spend my time travelling to every restaurant in the Philippines, just to sample their food and cuisine. While featuring it in my YouTube channel and writing reviews in my food blog. Also, I would write a book about all the restaurants I've visited. That would really be fun to do. But I don't have the money to support this idea as of now.

Just what i was picturing, but not exactly. I would do a lot of travelling for sure, but not particularly going to different restaurants to taste and author a book about different dishes, i will be writing about the the different adventures from all corners of life that i will be going about. Yeah travelling would be a great thing to do if money were nothing. Same thing works for me since I love eating and tasting different cuisines It will more likely be a rewarding and fulfilling job to do given the benefits of traveling and eating at the same time.
