Facebook is number 1

We're all familiar with Facebook, its a valuable resource available to everyone and it's the biggest social media platform in terms of active users.
The World's Population is 7 Billion and as of today 1/3 of it is using Facebook. According to reports 2.35 Billion People are actively using it.

Facebook is a user friendly. It is easy to access and possess a lot of great features that pursuade people to use Facebook. Actually, in the early years of Facebook, I dont use nor make any account on it because I prefer Friendster at that time. But after a few years I was encouraged to make a Facebook account and I was impressed by this site. Now I love Facebook more than I love Friendster before.

Advertising can be done on Facebook. All businessmen prefer Facebook.

I've come across a number of complaints which seem to indicate that Facebook ads don't convert as expected. I suppose it's got to do with poor targeting but I suppose there are some ad campaigns which might work for certain businesses and under-perform for others. So it's best to experiment first before placing most of your ads on Facebook.

Facebook is still the best. It being the biggest social network, it is only natural that a lot would try to break into its systems for personal and malicious intent. Nevertheless the Facebook people are trying their best to keep it's security at the maximum.

A lot would also say that Facebook has been a nest for non-existent people with dummy accounts. I myself have duplicate account for business purposes. And these may have lead to animosity and detachment from reality, adapting a new virtual personality with no inhibitions and less grip on morality. While this is true, I do not see why we should blame it on Facebook. Facebook is a tool-an instrument. If you use it well for good then good would come out of it. If you use it for bad, then what would you expect? This isn't really a two-edged sword. Facebook in reality is just a medium to bring people closer by sharing. Anything can be instruments of maliciousness if the user intended it. It is the user that is bad and not the medium.

So for me, Facebook is still number one. It helps me personally and it helps me grow my business for free.

It is the number one, I agree. Yet their not sharing revenue becomes the only reason I do not like it.

it is unfortunate that many sites that operate in this way do not function properly.

Most sites don't share their revenue with users. And to be honest such a business model would probably end up "killing the site."

Look at Mylot. It was supposedly a social network which shared revenue with those who used the site. It didn't survive long. If Facebook was to try this, they too would go down the drain pretty fast.

I agree. Anything can be found in Facebook , May it be a gossip, advertising and marketing, news from other country, celebrities, propaganda, everything can be found in Facebook. No wonder they are the biggest platform among other social media.

Yes, I agree no one else comes even close, there are maybe a few of also popular social media websites, but Facebook is on another level the exposure of Facebook is huge that 1/3 of the overall population is using it, I mean that says a lot.

Well, Facebook is number one, but I will disagree with you that other social media websites will fade with time. Reason being, some users are turning away from Facebook to other social sites. In fact, the number of Twitter and Instagram users is growing.

No wonder why facebook is the number one social media platform in our time because of the services that they offered plus it was just free for the users. They are just connecting people from different parts of the world. They are also advance in terms of their technology. You could chat, call or video call with anyone you want and it was free of charge.

it also helps some businesses around the world. You could easily create a page where you can promote your business. You could also advertise your page and it will appear to the users. It was a wide range of clients because you are targeting the world.

Though Facebook has easy access. Though it is user-friendly and assists business, I still think they have much to do for improvement.

I do agree that Facebook is one of the most powerful Socila Media platform in the World. It has in a way revolutinized thw way we communicate online. I have been using Facebook for many years now and i think it has changed with time and its popularity has never gone down. The only concern that i have about Facebook is the data security problems that have been in the news for some months now.I hope the company does ensure the safety and security of the data of its users throughout the World.

Facebook has so many scandals attached to it about privacy and data, but its audience keeps growing each day Its true that there is nothing like Facebook. Yes facebook is the number one social media platform out there and it is getting bigger and bigger a lot of 3rd world country right now are developing at a very fast rate and internet is being introduced to a lot of 3 world countries who don't have internet access before so I expect that Facebook user will grow more in this coming years to come.

They offered people the chance to not only communicate, but exchange media across the world. You could chat with anyone, see pictures of them and feel like they were right there in the room with you. Yes, it's very clear that Facebook is the most influential when it comes to social media platforms. I think Facebook is still number one but I think I use it less than ever now. It’s been probably longer than a year since I actually posted anything despite the fact I log in regularly.

I use it more as a method to chat with people than for actual posting these days.

We're in the same boat here. I only use facebook often like I need to chat someone for important matters. Of course here in laptop I can open my Facebook because my messenger is there. I only scroll my newsfeed when I am done with things I do.

I had read 2 billion users some months ago and now you are saying there are 2.5 billion users in Facebook. That is a big leap and to think that 1/3 of the world's population are into Facebook then it is a power to reckon with. What if Facebook will charge us for using it? If they charge us $1 per account, do you think that everyone will pay just to continue their life in Facebook? Maybe not all but I'm sure that 80% of the active accounts will be paying. That is how potent Facebook is.

They've also shut down millions of fake accounts and there are still more on Facebook. I'm not exactly sure how many fake accounts there are now. But if they start charging I'm one of the first ones that's going to delete account. I think so too that about 80% will pay for FB since a lot are so addicted to it these days.

Facebook is the biggest but I don't believe it's the best. There were others before it that were better. It's just that Facebook has gained a lot of popularity. I don't use messenger a lot because of privacy issues, I prefer using Line to be honest, it's much better. Better calls and video calls and privacy is so much better. Even if your FB is set on private so that people can't find you, if they just get your username they'll always get to find your profile. That's a bit alarming really.

Yes, it's alarming. But, what I do with these security risks is putting inaccurate information about myself like birthdays, full names and such, to avoid getting problems when there's an identity thief. Anyway, it's just social media, it's not a bio data site.

That's what I do as well in order to protect my identity. I didn't use my full name on my Facebook, I just used my nickname and my last name. I also didn't use the right year for my birthday. I left my educational background and other details blank. We need to be careful online. We don't really know who's checking our profile.

50 percent of the internet users have account with facebook. That goes to show you that facebook seems to be in the top category right now. And many people choose to use it. I'd say for those who are on internet it seems like the best social media site. I personally am limited on facebook and other similar places. But the way it works, I'd say that facebook has it's own set of limitations for the data protection.

I think that social media site such as Facebook is one of my favorite because I can easily get connected with my friends and family. It is very simple and convenient to use and in just a few clicks everything would seems to be fine in an instant. It was one of my favorite past time whenever I feel bored and got nothing to do for the whole day.

It is already a part of our life whether we just want to have a chat, find items or services, read a story, look for pictures and the like. Facebook has become most of the people's second home. Because of that, we have our personal friends and virtual friends. We are able to make transactions online easier. Just be mindful and wise though because scammers and fake accounts are everywhere but nonetheless it is the fastest way to communicate.

Yes, even our grandparents are using facebook. I live with three senior citizens and they are all using facebook. It is a testament to the company on how they have something so good yet it is easy to navigate and learn. I was the one who taught the senior citizens I live with and they have enjoyed facebook so much because they are able to communicate with old friends that they have not talked to for years.

I also found out how to observe who viewed your profile because I know that this would be very interesting for most people.
