Every year, we have a big celebration at my mom's home for Thanksgiving. But, this year she is not feeling well, so we won't be doing a big family Thanksgiving dinner. I guess that means that I will be celebrating the occasion alone. What should I cook if it's just me at the dinner table for Thanksgiving? Should I even bother to celebrate?

I would probably just cook a small turkey breast and have it for a few days in a row. Maybe some sweet potatoes as well.

Does it have to be turkey? Could you just make a nice steak and a baked potato?

A turkey sandwich and coleslaw would settle it for me.

There's no reason to cook a huge turkey if you are celebrating alone. You can just eat the way you want and enjoy yourself rather than drawing attention to the fact you are celebrating alone. Mostly these turkey dinners are meant as a tradition for groups and families to honor.

Since you're celebrating alone with no one to share the meal with you, I would suggest you go for a white rice while you can make little stew with chicken to make it delicious. Do all that and when you're back from the celebration, try to bring that special care to yourself and ensure you have fun as well.

A simple meal would suffice since you're celebrating alone. No need to cook for yourself. Do you have any friends where you can celebrate it? I'm sure, they'll love to have you join the celebration.

Since thanks giving is very important alone or with family you should celebrate thanks giving it is showing how you give importance to God through ups and down. And also thanks giving is one a year only So let's take the time to cherish it.

I would definitely cook all my favorite dish when I celebrate thanksgiving alone, I know it's kind of sad celebrating thanksgiving alone but eating or treating yourself by cooking your favorite meal, would or can make you happy.

I don't know if thanksgiving needs specific light meals but I would cook my favorite meal or buy myself that expensive meal I have always been postponing to eat. I think thanksgiving is important and you should celebrate it.
