Why are ants still so active?

We live very near a wooded area, so we have ants and little critters creeping up into the house on occasion, especially during the summer time. This past summer was especially brutal with the trails of ants coming into the kitchen. No matter how clean I kept the floors and counter tops they would show up. It was difficult as I have to feed my cats and often one or two tiny pieces of cat food will go astray. And, sure enough a line of ants would form in search of it. I would expect that during the summer but now that we are into fall, I don't understand why the ants are still so active. Tips on getting rid of them would be appreciated.

With winter fast approaching in some areas, the ants are just following a natural drive to stock up for cold times ahead. As soon as the weather gets cooler, you'll see fewer ants.

I have not seen many ants now that it is cold. I think that they have all left for the cold season ahead.

It was freezing here early this morning and I still saw a line of ants in the bedroom. I have no idea where these things are coming from. They had disappeared for awhile. I think someone had a snack in the bedroom and the ants were coming in after cupcake crumbs. >.<

Ants will be active all year if possible to gather all the food they can. You can't expect ants to be inactive when there is good weather. That's just survival.

Ants will work until the very first freeze, gathering all the food they can in hopes of being able to survive for the long cold winter. That is just part of nature. Now that it's almost summer again, you will likely see more ants too as they are out of their hill and ready to forage again.

Ants are very much organised and hard working insects. They do every work as unity . Human should learn this from them.

I think that it's nature that make ants to be the way they are. They are the best creation of God that is very industrious more than anything else known to man. Ants can start working right from day break till night fall without getting tired. If humans can work so much as ants does, believe me the production capacity of the world would be unimaginable.

Ants are well versed with division of labor, if you have taken time to observe them you would notice this yourself, it's quite painful they are just pest to man which must be removed, so I think getting the area that is ants infested fumigated would take care of the ants.

I totally agree ants are the most active thing on this planet, they work non-stop. And also, humans do probably work like ants then there would no poor and lazy in this world, like everybody would work there ass up.

Ants are just made to be always active. I have some ants that are in the office where I work and as the more that I kill them, the more I continue to see many of them spinning up. I have given up and allow them to continue their active lifestyle for there is nothing that I'm going to do that will bring a change for that.

I had this problem a few years ago and I bought a spray from a local shop, I don't remember what its name was but I am sure you will find something similar in your city. A friend told me that if you spread salt on the floor the ants will leave and never come back, but I haven't tried it..still...is worth trying before to spend your money on chemicals!

Ants are very active insects, they 're the very example of giving one an inch and they take a mile.If you leave room for an ant before you blink, they become so many and as the feed, they grow into soldier ants and if you cross their path, they crawl on over you.So it better you nip it in the bud before they go too far.I just find out what is attracting them and throw such thing out.It mostly sugary things, so one just need to look around and clear whatever is attracting them.

No one likes an undesirable neighborhood with a centipede or cockroaches, and there is nothing good about having ants or midges at home.Insects are not only annoying buzzing near the ear, dirt and an unpleasant smell, they are also serious problems that the bites of some individuals can cause to a person. For example, I had a lot of ants in my garden. They weren't bothering me, but once they started to enter the kitchen, and after two days they were so much that I was terrified. I tried to days in a row to kill them but I couldn't. I tried different methods. After that, I called the professional pest control services and they killed all the insects in less than an hour and now I don't have any problems with them.

I am not worried about the ants, as hard as I am concerned about how to get rid of squirrels in my neighborhood. I wrote a request to inspect squirrel removal from my property to include where and how they should be removed and estimate the cost. The city needs to check these areas that have recently become active garbage areas due to warmer weather. My city has an ongoing grass seed program to stimulate growth along city sidewalks and footpaths, even though squirrel populations are increasing throughout.

In order for you to be able to drive away the mice, you must first find out how they got into your own home and what specifically attracted them. The first step is to eliminate possible damage and weaknesses, such as holes in the brickwork, open basement windows, etc. Learn more here https://everpest.com/blogs/blog/how-to-get-rid-of -mice-in-the-house.
