Did you ever have a house warming party?

When we bought our new home a few months ago, my mom and dad threw a big house warming party. The event was held on the weekend and involved a big dinner for extended family who were visiting from out of town. The celebration of the new house was so meaningful because this is the first home we have ever owned, only having been renters before, so it's a really big deal. I was so happy that our family was able to attend and make the event even more special.

It seems like a really big expense to have a housewarming party but I'm sure it was fun for your family.

We just had a cabin warming party last weekend. It was a lot of fun and a nice way to show off the cabin my husband built.

First and foremost, I would like to use this opportunity to congratulate you and your family on your new house, it's not an easy task in this our prevalent economic situation for one to acquire a new house, it's definitely a great achievement, I truly rejoice with you and your entire family.

Well, on my part my family have thrown me a welcome party once in my life when I returned from my National Youth Service Corp. It's was really a special day to me and all our family members.

Yes of course! It's like a tradition for my family and also to other families out there. Having a new house is a big achievement to everyone. We all know how hard to have your own house. So we must celebrate all night to new house. Party is a great way to celebrate it and to welcome new things that will come in your life.

Well it is a custom in my country to hold a housewarming or house blessing party when moving in a new house. This is to celebrate an improving life as well as to ward off evil spirits which is a common belief here that's why a priest is also invited to bless the perimeter and the insides of the house along with all the rooms and common spaces.
Houseblessings or Housewarming parties here includes immediate relatives as well as friends and other close people to the homeowners. It's really a fun event and you won't actually spend alot since it's customary here that guests should bring food or gifts.

Oh yes, I had the same situation when me uncle has bought a new house near the ocean. Of course it was a good reason to organize a party, but my family decided to arrange own music concert exactly to the beach. I understand that it is something too much, but I didn't say the my family is shy. We try to look for stage and have found tiered stages for hire. It was the perfect variant for us, because it is mobile and easy to install everywhere. Can say that it was the best family party which I have visited in my life.
