Interesting doctor office rules....No babies in waiting room...?

So as I am sitting in my doctor's office waiting room, waiting to be called in, I remember one of the rules that i had never heard of before at any other doctors offices i had ever been too about infants.

The office i go and bring my three children to has this rule that newborn and infants up to 1 years old cannot wait in the waiting room with the others. They have a seperate area for newborns/infants and their parents. The doctors say it is better for the health of the baby and infant so they dont get any of those sick germs! I thought it was such a good idea because newborns and infants are so much more susceptible to sicknesses!

Has anyone ever heard of this at their doctors office or pediatricians office before?

What are your thoughts on this?

LOL when I first read it I thought it was because babies cry and disturb people haha.

Yes this makes perfect sense, bringing a young baby into a room full of sick people is not a great idea is it? Especially since young babies get sick so easily too.

My daughter got ill and landed up in hospital when she was 6 months old. It was awful and then she continued to get sick constantly until she was 2 years old. It was very trying. I never thought about how often she was with me in the doctors rooms very likely picking up even more germs!

I have never seen having a separate room for babies but it is a great idea!

I think this is a great idea honestly. When we use to live in a big city the waiting rooms at the emergency department or pediatrics where just infested. If i remember correctly as a kid my mom use to take me for one thing and i would come out with another thing wrong with me. Hand sanitizers are popping up all over and i think this is an extra level of protection that has been needed for years. Lynne i hope your little one is passed all of that but if she is not i hope she gets better. Kids being sick is horrible especially when you cant do anything for them. They don't understand why they feel the way they do. This is a great idea and i think it should be adopted in all healthcare clinics that see infants. Thanks for sharing!

I remember that about the waiting rooms. Hand sanitizer is great but if its used too many time in a row, it not effective. For example you use hand santizer and then go do something else, sanitize again, do something and then go to santize....that last one will not sanitize! hand washing is really the best way to prevent illness!

i agree also that it should be adopted into all health care facilities and doctors offices that see and treat newborns and infants.

I think the doctor is right about it. We don't know where and when the germs will come at us especially to newborn babies. We all know that they are vulnerable and needs protection from the outside world. So if you are going to the doctor's office or even in a hospital, it is better to keep your babies in the house than bringing them with you in the doctor's office. If you can't avoid leaving them at home, you can ask someone who can take care of them.

This practice is often met in civilized countries all over the world. The first time when I was asked to leave the baby in a special room under the nurses surveillance I was about to come into a fight with all employee. They even told me I can stay with my son in that special room, though I can’t be in the waiting room with my baby. I obeyed the rules even if my irritation was seen from the space I believe. Everything went pretty good afterwards. I waited my time to enter in the doctor’s cabinet in that special room without communicating with other mommies much. The doctors explained me why the infants aren’t allowed in the waiting room and it came to me that this is the right thing to do. Then I apologized to all nurses I was rude with saying that I can’t leave my baby even for one minute in other hands or alone. A nurse even asked me to give her some details what I felt when I was asked to leave the baby in another room. I described in details my irritation and indignation, thus providing nursing essay writing help which she will use in her PhD paper.

Medicine is indeed a complex science, but you still need to know the basic rules. There are different situations in which it is necessary to provide first aid to the victims. The list of typical cases is limited. Anyone can master them. First aid courses teach important points. Read more here https://savinghands.net/.
