DIY Hand Sanitizer Spray, not GEL! 3 ingredients!!!

I know I had mentioned in a previous post that using hand sanitizer 3 or more times in a row without washing you hands in between, it doesn't work and will not sanitize your hands. And also using hand sanitizer with alcohol in it not only kills germ and bacteria but you also kill the good germs and bacteria. which isn't so good. I have this hand sanitizer spray, not that gel kind, that i want to share with you guys!

This spray is perfect for spraying down shopping carts handles and even better, your hands! LOL This 3 ingredient hand sanitizer spray will not only sanitize but will also smell really good as well.

What you will need:
1. 3 oz. witch hazel (although witch hazel contains alcohol, its not 70% alcohol which is standard for complete sanitization, you add the essential oils help give it a boost!)
2. 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel
3. 30-45 drops of essential oils (you can use essential oils you prefer, some use thieves, peppermint, lavender, rosemary, clove, and much more!)

What you need to do:
mix all ingredients in a spray bottle, shaking it up to help combine all ingredients. This spray will stay fresh for up to a few weeks at room temperature, but if refrigerated it will last a while longer.

Oh this is lovely. I see you used witch hazel in another recipe recently, sorry I can't remember which one. Do you know exactly what witch hazel is? Where it comes from and what it does?

I love this idea for a hand sanitizer because I completely agree with you. Shop bought sanitizers are just too sanitizing, it kills everything leaving you open for a germ attack.

There is such a thing as being too clean, there is nothing wrong with being exposed to a few germs anyway. It highers your resistance to them in the long term.

yes! i cant remember which one either! LOL so witch hazel is a plant in north america and its leaves, bark, and twigs are used to make medicines and other things like witch hazel water (which is the liquid distilled from the dried leaves, bark, and twigs and is normally what you would purchase at the store). Witch hazel helps with a multitude of things ranging from being able to apply it to your skin to help with pain and swelling to taking it by mouth to help with diarrhea, fevers, and even cancer.

With Hazel also helps reduce those nasty bags you get under you eyes, it helps lessen the sight of varicose veins, helps cool down a sunburn, natural astringent, stops bleeding, helps ease a sore throat, make a hand sanitizer, helps soothe bug bites, stings and razor burn, helps treat hemorrhoids, helps with diaper rash, and you can even clean your dogs ears with it! Sounds like an all around good thing to have handy in your home!

yes there is a such thing as being too clean and that can be dangerous because you body isn't used to those bad germs so it makes you even more sick than it should have originally.

Oh wow, so it sounds like it is an all round miracle treatment for multiple things. There are a few things that I always make sure I have at home, at these are teatree oil, lavender oil, aloe (well it grows in abundance outside) and rooibos tea!

It sounds like I should be adding Witch Hazel to my list of essentials to have on hand?

haha yes! i always have a bunch of things on hand and i have never had this on hand ever, but i will now! this is going to be great for the kids! they like to convince me they need band aids for the microscopic sized "boo-boos" they get throughout the day, wasting all the "cool" band aids they sell!. having this on hand will be great and so much more convenient!

Oh yes don't even get me started on those stupid Barbie plasters! I really lose my patience with those. I have stopped buying plasters when my kids are with me, it saves me a lot of money and irritation now.

I just buy the normal fabric plasters now and then my daughter will say she needs a plaster, takes one look at those and changes her mind LOL.

But back to the witch hazel, I am going to see where I can buy that here and look into all the things it can be used for. I really love going homeopathic where I can.

so true! i cant bring them shopping with me ever unless we all go as a family and my husbands with me. lol yea, seems like witch hazel is the best way to go as far as a cleanser for scrapes and cuts!

This is awesome for us. We need to make this as soon as possible. The kids are always getting into things and they cant always wash their hands so this would be good for in between washes. This doesn't seem like it would be a gel like regular and sanitizer. This seems like it would be more of a liquid. I love how its natural ingredients involved i love it. thank you for sharing!

That's a great recipe. I think that adding aloe vera is super important because these kinds of sanitizers can make your skin very dry. Even if you don't sanitize your hands, you sanitize things you touch later so it shouldn't be drying!

Wow, great! this is really neat. Now I know how to make our own hand sanitizer. We don't need to purchase it anymore. I will go for the peppermint sanitizer to feel the coolness on my hand. Thanks for this DIY. DIY Hand Sanitizer Spray, not GEL! 3 ingredients!!!

Hand sanitizer is very important to us especially if we are going out for a trip. This DIY hand sanitizer spray is the answer if the store doesn't have a stock of it. It is easy to do and I want to share it to everyone who likes to use hand sanitizer everyday and also to those who don't use it for extra knowledge purposes. I remember that time whe my hand sanitizer bottle was empty and I need to buy one because I have a trip the following day. I go to the store and they said that they are out of stock. So for me, this DIY hand sanitizer spray is very useful to me.

Thanks for the tip. I'm always looking for a hand sanitizer that will keep my hands clean and moist. The problem with most sanitizers is that they dry out your hands and you're not sure unless it's the dettol sanitizer that it will kill all germs.I like your ingredients because of the essential oils. This usually means that they will smell nice and be able to keep hands moisturized.
