Having a favicon to brand your website

A nice favicon which catches the eyes of your visitor every time they visit make a brand impression.
We have known of domain as brand, logo as brand. But a tiny favicon can do the same or more better.
People tends to remember the domain seeing the favicon. Like someone visited a website he can't remind the website address which he bookmarked, then he sees the favicon & get to the website.

A favicon just makes your website, blog or forum look a lot more professional as well. Almost all sites now have favicons because they are extremely easy to add onto your site and they are extremely easy to design as well. Because of how small they are when you see them on your browser, it just doesn't take that much effort to design one. I always tend to have favicons with the letters of my website name on a background that is the main website colour.

I always pay attention to this! It's a pet peeve of mine when a website doesn't have a favicon, it looks totally unprofessional! The last time I made my own website from scratch I made a favicon that would have a meaning and be recognized quickly. Favicons have to help you identify the website you're looking for when you have many tabs open at the same time.

Favicon really brings your website into professional and descent look. It is one of the basis of most visitors and it is also their identifier of a website. When i created my website about clash of clans, of course i created the icon that is related to the content. Most people who use the Internet regularly are probably accustomed to seeing favicons, but chances are your average Internet user doesn’t know too much about them, other than where they’ve noticed them – if they have noticed them
It is not absolutely essential to have a favicon on a website, But incorporating one into your design is one of those small touches that goes a long way towards improving the overall quality of a website, and it can also have a few smaller benefits for your visitors.
Icon isn’t there just for looks. It has a subtle – yet important – role in building the brand on their website. When a visitor sees one on their website, that can be a strong indicator that they came to the right place – which can also be reassuring in a sense.
But using favicons also serves a more practical purpose as well, at least from your visitor’s perspective. How so? By saving people time when browsing the Internet.
It’s the same principle that applies elsewhere on your website. When you look at a web page, your eyes notice an image before the text surrounding it. So when I’m looking through my folders and folders of bookmarks, looking for the favicons of the websites I’ve filed away helps me find what I’m looking for that much quicker.
When a website doesn’t use a favicon, your web browser will use a little blank page icon next to the website’s name in your bookmarks list. If you get enough of these in a column, then it becomes a bit tedious to sift through all of them to find the website you’re looking for.
But if a website does use a favicon, it makes it all the more easier and quicker to look through a list of bookmarks and find then one that you’re looking for, because your eye will notice the colorful favicons before it does the text of each bookmark’s name and the blank icons surrounding it.

I don't think it adds up much value. I do think that some of the time people need to make use of the favicon if they wish to do the branding. Because the brands with some good logo do make use of that. And for them it can be one good option to display it on the tab. I guess it is different for each one of them. I think for wordpress it's easy to add those into the settings. I'd however do see if the favicon is really worth it. Because not many people really see use of that unless you're big brand.

Favicon is very important for your website. This helps visitors to familiarize easily your site. In choosing favicon, choose what is best that captivates or attracts visitors to try browsing you page. You can find in the internet or you can create or customize your own. Favicon helps your website to look more professional. If you browse a page without favicon you will feel like its just a beginners website which would downgrade your website rating and review.

Definitely its really one of the things that can make your very own self hosted website or blog unique from others. I remember when I still had the first website that I created, I've struggle enough to think of my own design that will definitely suit my websites name and its content. Not just to make it look cooler but also have one that is not going to be similar with other websites on the same niche. The sad thing though is I've got no time to re-upload my site anymore cause I've had troubles on extending my domain name and hosting servers due to financial problems last year and too much work the following years so I just spend some time freelancing online while working my day time job to gather funds for another project.

We have one for our site. Added it about a few years ago. I am not sure of it's importance in terms of visitors but it is just one more item to make the visitors feel more connected with your site and its overall brand. I get that part. But I'd have to do more research in terms of whether visitors really pay a lot of attention to it or not. Or whether it affects their overall opinion of a website or blog.

favicon is now used for every site as a sign of good taste and to personalize your site. I think this is a great solution for any site that wants to get more Google rankings.
