Do you still write everything you do in a diary?

I used to remember writing down things I did for that day in a diary. I want to look at it in the future and remember what I do for that certain date. I don't know if you have done this thing but it feels rewarding especially checking your notes and relive the moment it happened. Do you still write them in a diary? or you have an ebook to calendar your activities?

When I was very young I used to. Even though it wasn't thought of or seen as something young boys did often. But as I got older I gave that up. I think now with blogs and other digital spaces where people can just rant or bang away their thoughts on a keyboard and post them in real time, diary writing is kind of a dead art form. Has been for awhile.

Judas2018,
I think that you bring up an interesting point here. I wonder why writing is not associated with male behavior in some cultures, or keeping a diary may not be considered a "masculine" thing to do. I must say that "diary writing", as you call it, is not a dead art, in my opinion. Many very culturally influential people write their memoirs, and some of them are able to do so because of years of journaling and of recording what happened in their lives. Some of these writers provide incredible personal and historical insights into the age in which we live. Just my opinion here, as I respectfully disagree with you.

Of course yes, people do still chronicle their lives in writings and diaries. But that number has shrank significantly now compared to the early 40's and so forth. That's what I mean by 'dead art.' You find very few people who still do it. Most people these days put a lot of their lives online in social media spaces like Instagram, Facebook, tumblr, etc.

Also most people who keep specific memoirs or writings about their life story, do so because they specifically intend on turning them into a book much later on in life. If a future book about your life isn't something you plan on doing, most people don't do the diary thing. You also have to count people who do diaries or dossiers for a short period of time before quitting on it. They either get bored with it or don't have the necessary privacy or safeguards to keep it from falling into the wrong hands.

Judas,
I totally hear you hear, and thanks for the clarification. I agree with your points as well. I am an English nerd and English professor, so i am still surrounded by a lot of folks who are journaling, like me, well into their forties. I like your point that social media has taken the place of writing in journals, to a degree, and that makes total sense. For me, personally, though, despite certain privacy issues, there is just a different feel and energy to writing things myself by hand than to typing them into the screen. I got hooked on it at a young age and it just stuck, I guess.

I was given a diary after elementary school and it stayed with me for a very short period of time. I think I made about three total entries. But as a young boy I was always into more outside stuff like TAG, basketball, touch football, etc. When I did indoor activities it was all about video games and comics.

When I was younger I did as well. I only stopped because I feel like not every move you make is important. If you're doing something important that you'd like to remember in the future then you should write it down. I felt like writing everything I did was a waste of time because there were days when nothing interesting happened in my life. I would have to disagree with the fact that writing in a diary is a dead art form. I love to write so I don't believe there is no such thing as a dead form in writing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Judas2018
It's a dead art form in terms of its original beginnings. People are doing the diary thing online now. Very few people are actually putting pen to paper and writing down the days events. The online diary is also very different from the pen and paper diary. For one thing, many online diary entries are really short on real interesting content. A lot just include a selfie and a few sentences. Others though still exist within the vein of the original diary. With great, lengthy logs and entries. They're just digitally produced now.

Me too, when I was young, I used to write daily dairy but some days are just plain boring, nothing to write about. However, there are some stuff that cannot be reveal at all. It is best to keep the memories in my mind instead of the diary. Someone might just stumble upon my diary and know my secrets. No diary is not a dead form of writing.

When I was in my primary school say around the age of 10 to 19 years of age, I practically wrote everything about my life down in a diary including my life secrets as well. Not everyone has access to my diary because I wouldn't want some information about myself getting into the wrong ones who will definitely use it against me.

Writing a diary was a requirement before when I was still in high school. I could remember that I was only doing it just for grades.HAHA but reading back what I wrote there gave me a glimpse and the feeling of what I wrote that certain day. It was such a good feeling. Now, I write in my diary for my own good and for my own treasure. Writing gave me freedom in expression. You'll never know in the future, right? Reading it back again gives me a sense of deja vu and pride to myself.

I used to write everything into the diary for like every single day. And that has now slowed down as well. I am working a bit harder on this. And trying to get more leads into this as well. I guess for each one of us that phase comes and goes. You may have to understand that writing phase once gone you don't feel like writing the diary. And that's something we have to think about every now and then. So it's interesting to see how the diary writing can be different for each one of us.

Yes these days the blogging is on trend. And people seem to be spending a lot of time into this type of the activity. I don't find this to be wrong. But it can be something we all have to learn and work with. Because it is kind of getting more trendy to write stuff. And there are sites like mirakee, wattpad etc. And it seems to be helping a lot of people out there.

overcast,
Now that you mention it in this way, I guess that my personal blog has taken the place of my diary writing. Why this did not occur to me, I do not know, but i am even, right now, multi-tasking and writing a blog entry about something that happened on my morning walk. Essentially, I guess that reading someone's blog is somewhat like having a glimpse into their "diary", depending on how the person presents the material. Of course, this is all subjective, and we choose how we present ourselves to others in our personal writings, so the blog will most likely never be as "raw" as a diary that we did not intend others to see or that we just kept for ourselves.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

overcast
I think writing everything into blog can be a good habit. And one can really make this into something that can pay overnight. For example some of my friends used to write their office culture on blog. And this habit paid off once they want to work into management jobs. So this type of stuff can be turned into paid work. But we have to learn from our experience and see how that goes.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

JoeMilford
I think that's a pretty good idea to blog about the inter-workings and happenings of the office environment. I bet there are some pretty serious and pretty hilarious moments to be read and recorded from the cubicles! I am hesitant to blog about my job in academia, and if I did, I would definitely have to do it with a pseudonym, or I would be fired in a heartbeat! Still, I think that there are so many topics to blog about which could be popular and could be profitable for all of us. It's interesting how what I think might be boring about my life is actually very interesting to other people, so blogging helps me to keep my perspective on that.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

overcast
That's true. You can do this with pseudo-name. And there seems to be an option for many to do it properly. As you can see if people in general find the content useful, it can be converted into proper business. I don't think that can work out in many other niches. Though some niches are good for this tactic.

Growing up made me see how irrelevant it was to be penning down all my life daily activities in a diary. Who does it favor? It's not me because I'm already aware of that already, so what's the purpose of keeping a track of myself and life in a dairy only to have someone read it without my consent. This is not a proper thing to do for me.

It does help a lot to other people. I have seen people learning from experience of others and avoided those mistakes. For example some people learning how to deal with depression help from others experience. And many other things. It all needs to be out there.

I don't even write what I do in any book or diary. I heard about people who do this, but don't believe in doing it. I just believe strongly that other people are reading me and writing me down in their minds everyday. What I simply keep in records are details for payment of utility bills, receipts for payment of my children's tuition bills and lots more, not what I personally do daily.

Recording your bills is actually a good habit to monitor to see where your money/income goes. This is what my mother usually do, she has a separate notebook for expenses and bills. I think this habit should be taught on children too while
they are still young. It is just like monitoring a business.

When I was a teenager, I used to write everything that happens to me everyday. All of my happy and sad memories can be found on my diary. When I started working, writing on my diary got limited. Now, I would say that yes, I still write on my diary but it is not as often as before. I only write when I am in the mood, it actually helps me to relax. Sometimes, I reread the happy moments when I was young, it feels good remembering those times. Nowadays, there is a modern way to create diaries like blogging, some even do it on earning sites like mylot.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I guess for many of us that seems to be phase in teenage years. I do write a lot these days but mostly on steemit and mylot. So that's something which is keeping me going. And even better part is that some of the steem based interaction pays lot better than the mylot. Though not much paid yet for my activity. But it seems like a good option.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I write on mylot as well. I guess that if you develop these writing habits when you are young, through journals or diaries, that it most likely sticks with you. Maybe you were just a born writer, and it is part of who you are? I have not heard of steemit before, so, once again, you have turned me onto something new, overcast. In any case, I think that the habits you developed writing in your youth have just evolved into the next logical manifestation through technology and online options.

I agree even writing comments can turn out to be in more bigger project. I have seen bloggers who got out of the writing block through commenting. When they wanted to write the bigger comment they moved to the article. And that is something many of the bloggers and the writers are going to be doing. I am guessing for there are some really good ways to get the content properly managed through diary there as well.

I have kept a diary when I was a small kid and this only because I had a girl that lived next tome and she had a diary and I wanted to be like her so, I made myself a diary. After a few months, I realized how stupid is for me as a boy to own a diary and I have thrown it away and I never made another one!

Haha, that's very cute but I honestly don't think that it's stupid if a boy writes a diary as well. I can understand why you might think that when you're younger though but even guys need to vent out and express their thoughts somewhere. A diary can work equally as good for both genders.

Nowadays, almost all people are busy on gadgets and even writing is so boring to them not like the old days that they almost do it daily and serves as their past time but somehow there are some people who still treasure this opportunity in writing their daily experiences in the diary. Me, I never wrote or had a diary eversince in my life and if i do writing, it is all about assignments in schools. Some had diaries but in their celphones, computers or tabs and you will notice some are sharing their daily encounters on social media sites and this is brought to us by technologies. I never imagined this will happen in the current days. Diary writers are now counted already and most are tired of writing those instead they put their focuses in some things like reading.

I use to write everything in a diary when I was young. But these days social media does a great job keeping track of all the major events of my life. Not only that but they come up as memories the following year so that I never forget the important things in my life. Having said that I think too much social media is a bad thing and I try not to post everything I do.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

anor0428
Exactly. I think social media steal that role of diaries. I mean, if you look around the news feed most people are sharing things/activities that they are currently doing for that day. This is the modern way of diary, how ever, the only difference is that diaries are private, plain with words while on social media, you can add pictures. some even monetize it in the form of blog.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

JoeMilford
I also avoid posting everything that I do or experience, and I most definitely keep my personal info or drama off of social media. That being said, I think that your post reminds us of WHY the diary or journal is still important. It is a private act, a creative act, and journaling is something we do for ourselves which we do not have to share in the cloud or with others. I like the results of social media in my post updates and annual collages of my posts, but I use mt personal writing in a much more private way.

Yes, this could be true. Still, I don't think I should be writing my memories in my twenties. It's not that I don't have any life experience it's just that there is so much more to come. Once I get older I will try again.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

This was something that I always do back in the days when I was less busy and always go around with a book to pen down daily events of my life. However, in the past few years when I got into the university, I noticed that it is going to be tough for me doing so and all I always do is to write some things down on my notebook app on my phone and reference them when I wish to.

Things have really changed and I have to devise that means to keep dates of events in my life for future needs.

I used to keep a pretty detailed diary, but now i have so many writing projects that this practice has definitely fallen to the wayside or into just plain outright neglect. I did this more when I was in college, and I really got a lot out of it; actually, I think that doing this every day is a really good way to practice and develop one's own voice. Also, it is interesting to look at your past self recording in these writings as you age and progress in your life. It would neat to have my daughter read these old diaries of mine when she is older. Some of the material in there is not yet appropriate for a six year old, I'm afraid.

I used to have a little book that I used to write everything in. I wouldn't say it was exactly a diary because my plan was to have it as a sort of a book which I could sell (sort of like Diary of a Wimpy Kid). But I didn't really write much in it and got bored of it really quickly. I don't write anything in a diary anymore. I don't see the point of it and I just don't have the time to either if I wanted to.

I have also tried many times throughout my life to keep a diary. Each time I've used it for a few weeks but never further. I'm overly critical of my reflective writing skills, and I think that discourages me. I think if I kept up the practice for a whole year, I could look back and see some sort of progress. That would probably be rewarding, but it's a struggle for me to get there.

When I was a teenager I used to do that. I still have that diary which I have kept safely. They contain some beautiful memories. Nowadays I don't have enough time for this unfortunately. I work everyday except for Sundays and I spent this day with my family. However, my grandpa has been writing in his diary since 1988 and that too every single day. I think this is something that I have to learn from him.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

No, I've never had that kind of habit in my life until the time when I started traveling and having the need to record the most special moments. So, from there I started to record those moments and edit them in the form of vlogs.

It's a fun and more dynamic way than having to write about an entire trip. Do you still write everything you do in a diary?

I write in my diary and I also use Google calendar. I write in my diary whenever a task comes up, I then feed it into Google calendar. This keeps me organized and gives me a sense of achievement. Every time I finish something, I tick it off my to-do list.

It also helps me in my goal achieving as my daily tasks depend on my short and long-term goals. I also look through my diary to track my progress and help me when I am discouraged.

The advantage of Google calendar is it sends you reminders, that keep your day on track.

No, I don't keep a diary anymore. What I have instead is a blog. Every day I teach English via FB Live. After the live session, I write a blog about what I have taught. In a way, it's like summarising the lesson I have done. It also works as a permanent record of the lesson which my students can refer to later, if they need to. Other than that, it also adds content to my blog, which can be useful later on, for me.

Diary is part of our life. It is like we write our own story everyday. When I first write my diary, it is when in my grade school. Our teacher said that we must write all we do on that day. So I always start my diary when I woke up in the morning, brushing my teeth, taking a bath and so on. But then I realized that I must write what is the most important thing that happen in that day. Like seeing my crush, passing my worst subject and so on. How about you?

I find it funny that you include the word "still," as I personally never kept a journal or a diary when I was younger. I used to watch shows with kids my age in them, who went home and wrote stuff about their crush or other secrets in their diary, but I never really understood the point of keeping one.

It wasn't until a few years ago that I started keeping a journal. I found that writing in my journal at the end of each day was a meaningful way of letting go of my thoughts. I also have made it a habit of writing down three positive things about my day, every day, because it helps train your mind to look for positivity in life. Besides those points, I find it is also useful to keep track of my mood and thoughts because it helps me be mindful about changing thought patterns.

I understand keeping a diary from a journalling point of view.Keeping a journal is one of the best things you can do for your mind. Most of the time writing down your thoughts every day, week, once a month or every once in a while brings a lot of clarity. It is also seen as one of the ways you can meditate and heal from any emotional pain.

Ever read the book Option B by Facebook's Chief Operating Officer, Sherely Sandberg. She lost her husband, suddenly when they were on holiday in Mexico. Off course she was devasted. She was now a single mother of two children, yet she still had to move on with her life. She recommends that one of the ways she was able to do this is writing in her journal.

"Keeping a journal is one of the best things you can do for your mind."

I absolutely agree with this! It's actually been proven that keeping a journal can have a lot of psychological benefits. I think most of the benefits are tied to the fact that introspection and personal reflection are really mentally and emotionally beneficial. It helps provide a sense of direction, letting you know where you've been and where you want to go. They also say it's important to write about at least three things you're grateful for that day. This is because it literally rewires your brain to look at life from a more positive perspective.

I did, when I was like 11 years old, but not right now. Maybe that could be a good therapy, because usually when you write about your feelings, then you feel some kind of relieve. But, to be honest, sometimes I'm so so tired, that after doing errands, and working the whole day, all I want to do is to take a hot shower and go to bed. What I still do sometimes, is a list of remainders. That way, I avoid forgetting about something important for the next day.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Oh yeah, I have to agree. I think the best thing that you can do is to write down your feelings because it just helps to relieve some stress and can help you to feel much better. The problem for a lot of people is that they just don't have the time to take out from their day to do this which is probably why a lot of people get extremely stressed sometimes.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Exactly, and that is so me. Whenever I feel really stressed, I just listen to some music, try to write about it, and it makes me feel better. Unfortunately, more often than not, I'm busy the whole day, working here and there, and by the end of the day, I just want to drop in bed haha. That tip about writing your feelings, was one of the methods a very good friend had from her therapist, she told me to try it, and it really works.

Ah, I still remember the so-called "diary era" that we had when I was a child. For a couple of years, whenever you threw a birthday party, all of your friends got you a diary... so you ended up with like 5+ different diaries as a gift Do you still write everything you do in a diary? Back then, I did write it but I was always a bit lazy and didn't write it every single day. I can't remember when exactly but I gave it up completely.

Nowadays, I have no diary. I don't record my daily activities or feelings in such a way but instead, I make goals and a schedule of the tasks that I must finish. I write them all out in Excel.

I was worried that if somebody found it, they would know everything about me, even the wrongs I have committed. Therefore, I destroyed my diaries. I had 6 volumes of diaries.

It's a good thing that I don't do this kind of routine, for writing everything that's happening every day as it's against your own privacy. Well, until someone discovers and read your diary, it's always not safe that someone might read your diary, especially if you neglect to put it on your hiding spot. Imagine, if someone found out what you did on every single day, that's so embarrassing, what more if you put it into details. Writing in a diary is like giving a chance to someone else to know your inner self. There's a saying that "there are no secrets that can be hidden forever."

In my case, I want to still write and pen it down. The feeling is nostalgic and there is a certain happiness in doing it. A traditional diary is a notebook or anything that has many pages wherein you chat down different events in a daily basis. Today, diary can be included in a daily video blog or Vlog. This is the trend now and we use videos to keep or to store our memories.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

When you say diary as a way of expressing how your day went, I don't do that. But at least not on a regular basis. When I feel like doing it, I would. But not every single day because sometimes at the end of the day, when you're just so tired, you don't have the energy to recall how your day went and write it all down.

But when you say, writing down the things that you need to be doing, I'd say that's a checklist for me. I always do this. As I keep my time maximized, this is the best method to keep you working under schedule. You can immediately set what's priority or not, and what needs to be done. I don't do this now on a notebook or something, but I loved and utilized memo note from my smart phone now.

I guess diary writing has now evolved into blogging as many of you here say. Before, when you write your heart out in a diary, you would die from a heart attack when somebody reads it without your permission, but now, you'd pay people to actually read them. Part of the future now I suppose.

I don't write everything now. Just write down those important events that had happened in my diary. It is hard to keep a diary as a secret at home now. ANyone could just barge into my bedroom, open my drawer and rumble over whatever stuff since my drawer doesn't have a lock. So, if there is anything I want to write, I make sure that it isn't a secret, everyone in the household knows about it. Then, nobody is keen to read my diary..

I did not write in a diary because writing is something that I don't like when I was in my younger days. It's just lately that I realized the good benefits of writing in a diary. Somehow I would like to write about my daily experiences but probably I would do that in a blog rather than in a diary.

We all indulge in the act of writing down personal experiences on a notebook or diary when we were younger. Eventually we out grow such things when we start getting more occupied with time consuming activities like work. At least i can say that about me.

Generally i think it's ideal that people exhibit or develop the habits of writing down happenings be it in a diary or notebook. It not only helps remember lost memories, it can also speak volumes about self character which gives an insight to reflect on thereby learning from past mistakes.

Keeping diary records can also save you money. You won't have to pay too much for a wiki page if you have diary records.Lol

Rumu,
I tend to agree with you here. I think that diary writing can be, under the right circumstances, a meditative experience. Sometimes, putting down into our own words what has happened in our lives lets us own what happened even more effectively. Also, memory is such a slippery thing that I think that recording things in close proximity to the time in which they happened is important because years later we can go back and look at these diaries and get a real feel and perspective about ourselves and about who we were during our past experiences.

During my elementary or even high school days, I actually fond of writing some stuff in diaries for it is also required by some teacher especially language classes but I guess when you grow up, a lot of things change for you will focus more for some things which you think are more important than writing on some diaries and nowadays in the evolution of technology we cherish our memories by means of taking some pictures such selfie and groupie where we will post it in social media or just save it in our devices which somehow replace diaries for technology already serve its function. But sometimes, back to basics are just so fun to do again. Memories memories. Well God bless and thanks, everyone.

Keeping a diary is also good for future generations. When I was in high school I read my mum's diary from when she was in high school. This was fascinating reading. She talked about her life, her struggles, how she began to date my dad. It was really nice and helpful to see her thought process. It also helped mine. I would also like to do the same for my daughters and their daughter's daughters so I keep my diary very carefully. At the end of every year, I keep a scanned copy, in case my hard copy get's lost or damaged.

It can definitely help other people, although this is also one of the reasons why I don't keep a diary. I don't want others to know everything that's happening in my daily life except when I'm comfortable sharing it to them personally, and even then I don't share my every thought just like how it is detailed in a diary.

When I was a child, I used to write almost everything in my life on my diary. I used to write what did happen to my day details by details. I remembered one time I wrote the day when I first got into a choir. I was just grade 5 then. I was so nervous when we had our audition because there were so many people watching and me, being in the front row made it worse. I was so little back then so I usually get the front spot all the time. And then the conductor was so hard and harsh. If he did not like you, he will not just tell you that you are not qualify but he will tell you as well what makes you not qualified, so meanly. However, that did not stop me from auditioning and so, as a result, I got the spot. We became champion in Division category but failed to do so in Regional. But that was fine with me. Though at first no because I cried a lot. But then after that, I realized how lucky I am to be part of the choir and to have such experience.
When I grew older and bigger, I just suddenly stopped doing that or writing in my diary though. I honestly, do not know, I just stop. I do not know if it is because I am adult now and I am now facing more adulthood stuffs in real situations or I just do not have the ample of space and time to write in my diary just like before. But even so, I am still happy that I experience those experiences with my diary.

Funny enough I still do keep a diary I write on everyday, my diary knows every single thing I do each day like me typing my response here I will always tell my diary, because it is my best friend. When I don't write in my diary I feel so empty the whole entire day, I get to apologize to my diary the days I don't write in it, it's just like when you don't speak to a friend for a long time they deserve an apology for you not paying attention to them.

I enjoy writing on my diary everyday even though am caught up and too busy, I like to speak to it like my pal it is a necessity when keeping a diary, your diary keeps those informations you can't tell anyone else because it is not all the time you get to pour out your mind all to some one or a friend. The art of keeping a diary will make you disciplined at keeping up to your writing that's if you are a writer, it will also help you out to keep up to your daily activities because this time you don't live for anyone but your diary.

I only ever kept a diary for maybe a year shortly after high school. It's one of those things that I always thought I was supposed to do as a kid, but never really cared too much about doing. So, when I was older, I decided to give it a go. It wasn't for me. Especially after I went back and read part of it. It no longer reflected my current opinion of some things, which I grew to realize were ridiculous. I don't want to be reminded of immaturity and stupid points of view I may have had, so I stopped writing in it. I don't need documented proof that I've changed while growing up.

Some days I have lots on my mind and there’s no one around with whom I can talk with. My thoughts are tangled, messy, disordered.Writing a diary is a gift you can give yourself. So yes, I still keep a journal and write some of my ideas and experiences.

I haven't written in my diary for quite some time now. But I remember back then I used to write almost everything that I can think of. It is fun recalling memorable moments and this that seem to be a really big deal back then but now it is just a funny memory.

When I was young, I used to write my thoughts about life and my daily experiences in my diary but it only lasted for a month because of my bad penmanship and I lost motivation. But it would be great if I continued writing in my diary during that time because I can reminisce my past doings in my childhood days. I think that only a few people still writes in a diary because of the priorities in life that mostly requires time.

People who write in diaries always reach a stop/start point eventually. Not every day is going to be interesting or filled with drama. You can always pick up where you left off once life begins to get interesting again.

No, I don't use a diary now, but I used to when I was in school. It was pretty fun, I used to write everything down, I never missed any day, and now I am reading my childhood memories and get so nostalgic about them. I miss that childhood period, now I am laughing when I see what problems I went through and what were the things that I was so scared about.

I have never done this the same way most people do, because I see it as pointless practice. However I do think that keeping tabs on many things in your life (finances probably being the most important one) is a good idea, so there's always the place and time to do a little write-up on your life and the current situation of it in order to find ways to improve it.

I don't write the things that I did in my diary. Instead, I write my opinions, usually unpopular opinions. I like arguing with someone so I argue with myself using my diary. I also sometimes use my diary to list all the books I want to read, movies and series I want to watch and etc.

I have never had a diary, as I thought that I'd rather keep everything in memory so there's no chance for others to know my thoughts or my secrets. All I have is a planner.

Lol, privacy is more essential. I also don't use diaries anymore. However, I used to write almost daily when I was in high school. I no longer trust people, thus my memory serves me right.

Not really but I am planning to write my every day experience sooner or later. For now I am focusing on writing my goals and achievements so basically I have been writing my plans and schedule in my planner. Aside from that I am planning also to have one notebook for my compositions since I have been writing lyrics and creating song out of my experiences.

Well, not everything. I have a journal of my own and writing my thoughts their frees my mind. It's funny how I write like talking to an actual person without omitting expressions and filler words. And it helps me a lot to get away from anxiety. Some people think it's unusual at this era but old habits are cool, I guess.

Oh yes I did that too. When you are young and free, without any problems in life, its really nice to write down every happy moments you had from that day whether its from the school, mall with friends, at the park, party with cousins, get together with families, its nice to read back those days. I also wrote those moment with my crush when I was in high school. Then I just stopped doing this when my dad read all of it and they always mocked me every single day. Lol

Funny thing, I tried at least three times, to keep and update a journal. I realized it is good practice if I wanted to imrpove my writing and narrating skills, (I so wanted to be a writer, back then) The most I did was two days. I guess I am not the kind of person that wants to document every day of my life, I'd like to do that, but I think I do not have enough discipline to see it through and be consistent. So if years from now, my children digs up a journal of mine, they'd be disappointed because they'll just be reading one day of my life, haha!

Well, I used to maintain a diary when I was in school. I used to write every detail of the things that happened each day. After I finished my school and started going to the college I stopped maintaining the diary due to the lack of time and also due to losing complete interest in recollecting and writing every detail of the day. I think that maintaining a diary works with some people and they like doing it. As far as I am concerned I find it a little boring and a bit time-consuming.

The last time I used a diary was when I was in high school. After high school, things changed because I didn't have time to organize the diary. Also, things were taking a new twist in real life, and planning is not easier.

Not everything I do on a daily basis, but I do spend time writing my daily dos on a planner now and then. It helps me focus more on my deadlines compared to a Google calendar notification that I tend to ignore. I also noticed a lot of companies that make some impressively cool planners if you want to own a stylish one. I bought a nice one from https://partnersinfire.com/lifestyle/best-journals/ and some of my coworkers agreed that it looks really professional to have on top of your office.
