    Name 3 things you can't live without

    It is a simple fact of life that we all have certain basic human needs. Abraham Maslow who stated that needs existed in a hierarchy. The needs listed by Maslow, starting from the basic, are physiological, love and belongingness, esteem, cognitive, and finally the need for self-actualization. Family, work, and friends are the most important for me that I can't live without.

    I can't imagine life without my family and friends. They have always been there for me and supported me. I will always need them.
    Secondly, I can't live without food and water. This is an important need for all of us.
    Thirdly, I need to work. This is important to keep me busy as well as get some finances to satisfy my basic needs.

    Family and friends are helpful to the maximum. You should always get the options you need. Family is important to us. It is something that we need. It is simply one of the ways we can get our needs met, but we can't depend on them totally to the exclusion of everything else.

    Same here. I've always cherished the few friends I got to meet. I don't have a lot of them, but I can say that those I've met are great friends. I wouldn't be able to live without friendship, hope, and humility. Principle aspects that make life more meaningful.

    I got so focused on answering material things that I forgot about people. Yes, having people to share your life with is essential as they will be your support team in times of help and things are more enjoyable when you share it with other people.

    I think for me it has to be money, health and family. Those three things are what makes out the life. And rest of the things are additional. You can see that some of the time there does not seem to be much understanding. I think for me the life revolves around those three things. And that's how it works out for me.

    I actually agree with you on these, and I find it funny how so many people listed what we consider "additional" as some of their primary choices.

    You have answers like "I can't live without my PlayStation 4" or "I can't live without my iPhone". I honestly think that if I took any of these material items away from these people, they would be just fine.

    But take away financial support, take away good mental/physical health, and take away good family and friends, and you're probably not going to be so okay.

    Indeed. And that's another thing to consider that life is all about giving and taking. We give and we take. And we have to treat things around that way. But if we only do one thing for long term. That's also lead to misery.

    I'm not going to say, friends and family, because I believe they are definitely things you could not live without but it's fun to think just think about actual items that you wouldn't be able to live without. For me it would have to be my phone, my PS4 and music. If I had to prioritise I would 100% pick music. I just could not imagine my life without music, it would just be awful really.

    I agree, music just brings so much color into someone's life and can serve many purposes, for relaxation, for helping you focus when studying or working out, for meditation, or just to set your mood for the day. I kind of wish that it's similar to the movies where a background music will play depending on the situation.

    Well I cannot live without a house, water/food and heat. I've tried to live without electricity and that can be done but I cannot live without heat. I could probaby live without a house, but not too long though. This are the basics for me in order to survive. I can get by eventually with the scarcity of everything that I have right now but somehow take for granted but, I am not a high maintenance person. So if the situation requires it, I can get by. I think we wall can do. Provided that we're all healthy though.

    3. Passion

    Why? God gives me constant inspiration to live and love.

    A loving and caring Family that understands me would give me balance and happiness.

    And a Job that I'm passionate about. Hey, if you have passion in your trade, how can you fail? Right?

    And I feel you, like totally. I would only add passion... for music. Honestly, I tend to mix my life with music all the time, and it's not that I'm a musician, but a music lover. Forget about material stuff, I can't compare God or my family with a cellphone, or Internet, or electricity... like really???

    Morally speaking, in able to survive, you need:
    +Faith in God
    +Family
    +Sacrifice/Hardwork

    But in this world, those really don't matter anymore. We are all know in the state of trying to get on top of one another, just like a bunch of hands trying to smack each other. What we really need is.... :

    +Water
    +Shelter
    +Money

    but you could also replace the money with Family or maybe Food, but for me Family is the most important. Without them (Father and Mother), you wouldn't be here. You would have not enjoyed your childhood as you grew. For all the time you lived, they were there. Money, food, water and other basic needs were also there, but without your family these wouldn't be provided. Basically, your family is the bottom of a triangle, they bond and support the ones above (food, money etc).     Well, there are a lot of things that I can't live without. First in my list would be my creator the Lord God. Without Him I wouldn't even have a chance to survive a second. Another are my family and friends, they have brought colors into my life. They inspired me and motivate me whenever I feel so down.     Of course. I mean I would love to know if anyone could live without food and water. It's not possible to be able to live for long without proper food or water to hydrate your water. But what things would you not be able to live without other than the things you stated? Think of things that are more just for fun and you use to relax etc.

    I would have to agree with the laptop. I'm not sure what I would do if I did not have my laptop and internet. I'm personally not at all a fan of tea but I guess tea lovers like yourself would not be able to live without it. The teddy bear just sounds great. I can't believe that you have had a 40-year-old teddy bear for all this time. That just sounds amazing.

    You can actually do without a house in some situations and scenarios. A small makeshift hut or shack, particularly in tropical areas will work just fine. However, you must know where to acquire the proper materials from, and how to construct your surroundings up to a certain level of sturdiness. So it won't collapse or anything.

    Of course It's the money, family and probably the internet, for me. I can usually live without internet but it would be awesome it we have especially on this kind of generation where you need to be updated in terms of other things that a media can't produce. And lastly I can't live without my family right now, like I still don't have that feel that I need to separate or have the guts to be independent.

    In life as humans, we need almost everything provided it will be of great benefits to us, we don't mind having them .For me the most three basic things I can't live without are shelter,love and money.Living without a shelter is a very big risk and if nobody love you enough to accommodate you, then one is doomed, then comes the ultimate money,which is the purchasing power for everything.Without it,we can go stealing which might be devastating to say the least but all the same the best things in life are free but there are no gotten in a hurry.

    The obvious 3 things that I simply cannot live without are as follows ;

    1. Money
    2. My laptop/phone
    3. Watching Football

    Without money I don't think anything can ever be done in this life, so it's the first and most important variable for me and there is no compromise on it. I need money on the daily basis of my existence in this world.

    Secondly, it's my gadgets which are my laptop and phones. They are part and parcel of my very operating system. Mostly everything I do revolves around my phone and laptop. They are the working engines for my days task.

    Finally, watching football and playing as well is the most important leisure for me. It's said that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. So therefore, it's the reason why I can't live without my leisure time.

I struggle when the time between games is around a week because of the fact that a week is just way too long to wait to watch a game. Imagine a world where there would be just no football at all!     For me it's in this order:

    1. Family

    3. Money

    Family is everything to me and without them, I would be lost. I am pretty blessed with amazing family and friends. They've always had my back and kept me on track. I will always be grateful for that. Next is health because if you aren't healthy then... there's not much you can do. Even money can't cure certain diseases.

    Like you said, there are things we feel connected to and one that we truly we think of on a daily basis without minding the effects they will have on us. For me, I cherish the life I live and wonder what I would have been without a good life. Also, technology, over the years, have become a big part of me and I enjoy handling my phone a lot.     Wow--what a question. Well, first of all, i could not live without my first passion, which is poetry and writing. My life would not be the same without this endless source of artistic expression and the conversation it allows me to have with myself. Secondly, I could NOT live without the love of my friends and family and the woman I love. Without others teaching me and showing my how to love, my life would be so empty.     I love, love, love coffee! I have to have at least three cups a day minimum to function. I love all types especially lattes and , espresso.I love them most from Starbucks.I love bullet proof coffee,this is coffee mixed butter and coconut oil.Delicious!     That is difficult. Now for modern age necessity I would say I need water, food and internet that comes with a laptop of course. I mean water and food is for the body while laptop is for your work and social interaction which we need to lift our self and our mind. Without these three I bet I can't live without it.

    I do have a lot of things I can't do without, ranging from both material needs to emotional needs to physical needs, call it any how you want to call it but needs are also things you can't do without. Let me explain you might have lots of money but lack companionship, when finally that companion comes you won't be able to do without them, so lets say things we can't do without are also our needs.

    1. Family and friends- I can't do without my famz they keep me going in life especially my granny, my siblings and my cousins we so close that we just can't not help but see each other every week, they make life fun for me and we joke and act all naughty together all the time. We have been through lots of things together that's why I can't help but hold them close, they make my world colorful I don't know how to describe this feeling with words, it is just magical and I always want us to see many more years together am too attached to them. My friends are people I take my time so well to choose, I don't have up to five friends and we are just good like that because I don't like crowd am more of a private person.

    2. Reading and writing every day- I know this is funny but I can't do without reading or writing in a day it gets me some how ill if I don't, it's like an everyday priority for me and it gave me the nerd nickname in the house, either be it ebook or paperback or ebup or writing on my diary it is always fun for me, it's like me going on a new adventure.

    3. My gadgets (laptop and phone)- I love swerving online and getting hooked to the latest informations and what's trending, when my data runs out it's as if the ground should open and bury me lol, my laptop I use it to download loads of apps and softwares and also ebooks/music /videos /other stuffs.

    Hmm, I would probably have to say food, water, and air! Okay okay, I know I'm being a wise-guy. In all seriousness, besides the obvious essentials, I think I couldn't live without my laptop, my family, and my pets. I quite literally couldn't live without my laptop because it is my livelihood and where I earn my income. Besides that, the wealth of knowledge and entertainment available through the internet is invaluable. My family and pets are essential to me because they are what keep me sane and on track in life.

    The three things I can't live without are my loved ones, friends and basic needs. Anyone who would like to be solo for the whole life? Of course there is nobody who wants to be solo in life. My loved ones (family, relatives and the girl I love) are the reason why I become strong in the past years. Without them, I can't be what I am now. My friends are also there to support me when I am in the bad times. And lastly, the basic needs we need to have everyday. Proper foods, shelter and clothes is all we need to survive in this world. I am so happy to have this three things in my life.

    Am getting confused right now by people's response on the thread which says: 3 "things" you can't do without. Are we talking about objects or people? I'll assume we're talking about the the earlier.

    I can't do without food, shelter and money. Theses are like the basic things of life which no one can do without.

    I can't live without water, food, and medicine. First of all, water. Obviously, we need water to survive. And I also sweat every second so drinking water helps in replacing those body liquids that I excrete. Second is food. I tried starving for 3 days and that experience was not great at all. I feel so low and angry at that time. And I don't want to starve myself again. Third, medicine. I have an allergy that could kill me. So I need to get regular allergy shots.

    1. Food (and water). I guess it goes without saying that no one can live without them and I am also an avid fan of good restaurants and without them, it feels that my day is empty when I'm not visiting a good restaurant or when I'm not cooking my comfort food.
    2. Money? Of course you need money to buy your necessities, but I guess if money is cheating the question, I'll replace it with a laptop. I can earn money through a laptop with an internet connection to help me get through the day.
    3. (smart)phone. I mostly rely on my phone for entertainment, surfing the net, online games, etc. If I'm not doing anything, you can expect me to just be on my phone all day without a care in the world.

    I think for me I can't live without my family, friends and money. We all know that people have different needs and want in life for them to live peacefully and comfortably. I chose my family since they are the ones that really understand me whenever I had some problems and would always there to help and support for me for all of my journey. While my friends serve as my motivator at the same time a mentor for me to be guided on the day to day life in this world. My friends suggested new ideas and sometimes advice me for all of my undertakings. While the money give us the prerogative to buy all we need since we all know that money now a days is very important since you cannot have your material aspiration if you lack money that is why for me it is important and I can't really live without it.     Everyone of us have a different reasons to live and with diffrent goals, needs and wants. The first on my list would be probably my family because they are the one who gives me strength, courage and love in my daily life. I can't imagine a world without them. They serve as my inspiration to continue my life and to succeed to my chosen career. They are always there for me whenever I will have a problem in my life. The second one would probably food and water. Food and water are essential aspects to have a greater health but we should only consume food with the daily average needs of the body and if you will exceed, then face the consequences. Water is also essential because they serve as a fuel to our body. We need to consume at least 8 glass of water a day. And lastly, In our modern world, A person cannot survive without money. Money is essential part to survive because you cannot buy food, water and other things without the use of money. But, to much greed on money could lead into an unhealthy lifestyle.     Since were talking about things, I'm going to exclude my husband, family and dog because those are obvious. I would say the three things I need most in life are:

    My car-I don't live in an area where you can function without one and public transportation isn't very good

    Some form of computing device, which sounds frivolous but since I am making my living online mostly without it I would be completely out of income!

    I can't live without sports, because it's a daily activity that makes me live my life to the fullest and keeps my health! Another thing without which I could not miss is music, there is not a day when I do not listen to music and even if I do not listen to music I probably sing me =)) and the third is the family that is the most important thing!

    Sports is an interesting choice. I think you could replace the health aspects of sports by building a workout regimen with objects in your home, yard or a local park. Even a simple jog around the block or through the neighborhood, or on the side of a local low-traffic highway can keep you healthy. But the one thing you couldn't replace when it comes to sports being absent from your life, is the friendships or common-rotterie that it builds among people... along with the confidence and vital teamwork, and people skills that it helps to develop.

    I have a question. How can we live without these three things? Food, water and air. we'll starve to death without foods and dry up without water. No air? How can our brain work without oxygen? haha

    Anyways, personally I cannot live without my phone, food also and a laptop. I use my phone during leisure time to kill time and not be bored. Food! My stress reliever. Lastly, my laptop. I will not be able to work and earn money if I don't have a laptop, *cries.

    I couldn't live without music. It makes my day much more interesting when I listen to music. Especially those commute hours. I'm dying inside when I'm commuting and I forgot my headphone or earphone. Food obviously. We need to generate energy and we get that from food. Chicken will always be my favorite meal. Another thing is oxygen. I wouldn't be writing this if I don't have oxygen in my brain cells.

    First, I can't live without God. When I am depress,sad and so emotional he is the one I can lean on or I can cry on even if I don't see him but I can feel his presence that he is with me always especially when I am praying. Second one is I can't live without food and water of course. We need to eat daily for us to have energy. The third is I can't live without my family. My family is very important to me, they serves as my supporters when I am in the midst of despair. They also serves as my strength to overcome my problems in life.

    I can't imagine my life without my family and freinds. Your life may become meaningless without your family. All things that you have done is always dedicated to your loved ones. But above all, our life is useless without God. It's God who gave us our family, freinds and money. Sometimes in our lives, we are so much focusing on how we survive in this world with our familes.     I really like this question. I'm going to skip over the obvious answers of "food, water and shelter", since those are givens, and instead focus other aspects of my life I couldn't live without.

    First off, I wouldn't be where I am without my family and friends, and I couldn't imagine being who I am right now without any of them. I appreciate having a strong network of people who support me and are genuinely a positive influence on my life.

    Second, I would say I couldn't live without my camera. I have a passion for video and photography, and being able to create images with my camera is an incredible source of happiness for me every day of my life.

    Third, I would probably say my iPhone. My girlfriend calls me a "social butterfly" and I think that's a pretty accurate description of me. I love being connected to my friends and family, and social media fascinates me. I love being able to share my work online as well as see what others are up to with their lives. Being connected to the world is a huge part of my life!

    Obviously i cant live without my family, a home , and a job. But lets skip that and go to a lighter point of view. In my everyday activity the three things that i consider the most important things i cant live without is a good cup of coffee... a nice meal... and my laptop.     As an imperfect human being and as a christian, I believe that I can't live without God, my family, and love. I actually believe that it is important to know God as a christian and practice what is written in the bible so that you'll have a peace of mind. With regards to family, I can't live without them because I also believe that no man is an Island and I consider them one of the most important people in my life.     1. A source of good income / a job or a business.
    2. Beautiful Wifey and Sex
    3. Fast Food and Restaurants

    I guess I need work to survive and support my family, also I need my beautiful wife that always gives me great sex lol and fast-food joints and restaurants that I love which gives me great Pizzas, Burgers, Fries. Fried Chicken and Donuts.

    I find it hard to name three things that are indispensable in my life because I know that if I have to, I'm flexible enough to replace them with something else. Right now, though, life will be tough without my laptop because it's the most important equipment in my freelancing work. It wouldn't have been possible to reach my current earning level without my laptop. And of course, I need to withdraw my online earnings so Paypal and its local payment partner/ATM card are indispensable, too. I'll have to include my smartphone because it has useful apps that make life so much easier, including that app that I normally use to withdraw my earnings instantly. So yeah, these are all about money because I need to support my family financially and I want to give my child the best things in life that I can possibly provide as a parent. I think it goes without saying that family, house, food, clothes, security, and friends are life's necessities and pleasures.

If you are not in touch with your family for a long duration of time when you feel uneasy and also feel that your life is incomplete without the presence of your family members.     The three things I couldn’t live without would be my car, coffee, and music. Having a car is being able to go places without my parents driving me there. I don’t have to ask them to take me anywhere so long as I have my car. Coffee is what gets me going in the morning. The aesthetic that is cupping a cup of warm coffee between my hands, the puff of steam when I blow down into it to try and cool it a bit - or just generally sitting in a Starbucks. Music is what feelings sound like. I couldn’t live without it because sometimes it’s the only thing I can use to get my mood up, raise my energy. I’m still discovering things about myself through music, and while I’m not musically talented in any way, not being able to listen to music would be the absolute worst.
