Do you see power banks as a necessary phone accessory

Currently, it's a trending thing especially in the developing countries to always purchase power banks to support their phones even when it's a brand new product. The reason why I think people follow this trend is as a result of insufficient electricity/power supply, so these power banks serves as a standby extra battery power for phones.

Although, it's not everybody that own a power bank, but for those that see it very important, they simply can't buy any phone without getting a power bank as well.
So, the question now is if you see power banks as a necessary phone accessory when getting a new phone or as a support to your old phone?

The basic need for a power bank is to assist in charging mobile dveices when there is it is low and it is sad that in some developing countries, you realize that you can't really survive without having power bank as there is always power outage there. I believe that if the electricity sector in those countries should work better, citizens of those countries would have no need to make use of power banks.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Exactly. If you have noticed in the article above, it was narrowed down to developing countries where electricity sufficiency is a serious problem. There was one report I was reading one day and it was said that there was a community that haven't seen electric power for over 7 months. Can you imagine the state of business in that locality? It's definitely not going to be something good to write home about.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
That is the issue and it is shocking that governments of those countries are not even pushing to make things better in those countries. I expected a situation where the government should be doing everything in their power to ensure they have sustainable power supply and not the nonchalant attitudes that they show at the moment.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

EfficientNinja
Yup. It is a great backup tool if there are power outages. You can extend the time you can use your mobile device. It is a good way to pass time just watching movies or playing mobile games when the power is out and a power bank is a great way to extend the power of your mobile device.

I was just wondering. Are there already power banks right now that instantly charge your devices without waiting time? I imagine the use of power banks as if you're still using a charger. You'd still have to wait until it's fully charged. And it usually takes a few hours.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

EfficientNinja
There are companies that boast about their fast charging devices. Maybe they are also offering power banks that have those capabilities. But there are articles that warn against the use of fast chargers because they are harmful to the life of your battery. They somehow reduce the max capacity of the battery if they are used often to charge.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Oh, so that's why others quickly lose battery life in the long run. I guess it makes sense. You can't have faster charging without losing some of your battery's functions.

I agrre with you. It is great to have powerbank if yoi like watching movies through your phones like me. And powerbanks are also in good help when in times if emergency. I remember that in our seminar about emergency outbreak, the rescuing team received a call from someone who is trapped in a flood, but before the victim can say where she is the call just ended and the rescue team tried contactinh the person but unfortunately they cannot reach her. They concluded that the phones battery just drained. So the seminar's speaker just said to is that power bank is a necessity.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Yes, I find it really sad. Many struggle with electricity. Particularly, developing countries. So it becomes a sort of privilege to have reliable source of electricity there. Power banks also become a necessity for constant use.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

aeon
That's really sad, if that's is the purpose of the power bank for them. Well, in that case power bank is really helpful, and there're LED lights now that they can use, a mini fan that only needs the power bank to operate.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I hope it helps. Many countries have less in terms of money and appliances. I'm thankful for innovators that makes their lives better. Power banks give a lot of power supply for gadget use.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

aeon
Yeah, this power bank is really helpful. I bring this one time when we climb one of the mountain in our country, and instead of the traditional lights or candle, theLED lights help us a lot to see the trail and much better than to flashlight.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I also find it funny that it helps more compared to flashlights. I think that invention eventually cease to function well. Like in horror movies. They always seem to go out at the worst possible moment.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

aeon
The disposable flashlight battery is just capable for just a few hours compare to powerbanks, and lights from LED is much more brighter and wider.

LOL. and the characters always blaming each others and always having a nonsense discussion when the time they need to unite and calm.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Oh my gosh! So you know what I was talking about. Doesn't everyone? LOL!

Yes, and then they "intelligently" decide to split up. Another way the writer makes this happen is by having them fight each other. Some emotional confrontation of sorts.

They'll be like, "Oh we don't want to split up. We're smart. Let's stay together."

Then one of them proceeds to do something stupid and makes everyone split apart. Like starting a fight or heated debate. Hahaha!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

aeon
And the hysterical one will surely die first. LOL. Same story different characters, that's why I love the to watch the "Scary movie" this funny movie somehow reveals the nonsense things related to horror movies. Do you see power banks as a necessary phone accessory

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Yes, that's so funny. You can watch many horror movies. One good movie is "The Final Girls." You can see the stuff we're talking about there. Though, I can't remember if there was a flashlight.

Powerbanks are pretty handy too. Powerbanks are like generators of cellphones. It is very helpful indeed.

I live in a place where there is frequent power interruptions. Sometimes power is out for the whole day. In a place like mine, power bank is really necessary.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Oh, that's unfortunate. I'm glad it helps with the situation. I find that simple yet innovative inventions improve people's lives. This is likely the case for power banks.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

vhinz
Yup! Good thing that power bank has been invented. It is also useful when you are on travel and no charging station is available.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Maybe as time passes by there will be more advanced versions of it. Like smaller and more powerful power banks.

Kind of like how phones used to be bulky like walkie-talkie. Now they're much smaller and more capable.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

vhinz
As new electronic components are being invented gadgets are becoming smaller and more powerful. Maybe a time will come that cellphone batteries and power banks could last for a week or more and requires only short amount of time to recharge.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
That's true. In fact, I believe that this is the case in Japan and other technologically advanced countries. But not in mainstream use.

More like for higher officials and secret advanced technology. My imagination is running wild. Hahaha!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

vhinz
Whoever is on the power or has the money gets first hand on the latest technology.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
The thing is that they already have it. We probably just don't know about it yet. Like in those spy and sci-fi thriller movies.

Imagine gadgets used like in James Bond. Hahaha!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That's good thing about having the power to control the technology. Well, if we have much money to spend on a sophisticated technology, we can create one for ourselves.

Yes. I agree with you. Power banks are very important too. There are smartphones that their batteries that are easily depleted. Power banks are badly needed.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I use my phone a lot and use apps that can drain the battery, so a power bank is a really important accessory for me. It's not for everyone but it can help especially during emergencies when your phone is low in battery.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

bienn05
Yes, I think it is so important. When you are in a rush and you forgot to charged your phone, power banks are there to save you. For emergency purposes, it is always reliable to have power banks. Power banks are such life savers.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
Yeah, even if you won't really use it regularly, I would still recommend having a powerbank for everyone just hidden in your bag. You'll never know when you might need it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Many people forget to charge their phones when in a hurry. So I guess it's mostly for those kind of people. The ones who need something to charge anytime and anywhere.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
I understand exactly what you feel with using phone and having lots of applications that can run in the background which takes a lot from the battery power of the device. This is very common to those that plays games a lot using their phones. If you don't have adequate electricity, having power banks will be your best alternative.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
Yeah, I'm also fond of playing games on my phone or browsing the net during my idle time or when traveling so it really helps me to have a powerbank to charge my phone when I need to.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I think it's really handy. I once had to wait a while because something was causing traffic in the area. Good thing I didn't have to worry about using up my phone's battery. The power bank ensures I can charge it anytime.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I also feel that many use it for their phones. Most games are now heavily draining battery life. So having a power bank saves you from having no battery charge left for important things.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Me too. It's useful for travelling. Like when there's no available outlet for you to use your charger. It's kind of an upgraded form of a charger.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
Oh yeah, I think a power bank is necessary when traveling, especially in beaches or places where there's no outlet for charging.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
It's probably why it was invented in the first place. It's for helping those who travel. You practically can't find an outlet when you're exploring such natural places.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
This is the thing with modern phones. We didn't have this problem with older phone models. What drained our batteries was low signal reception and long calls. I wonder how useful it would have been in the past years had it been invented sooner.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
Yeah, older phone models didn't really have big issues with their batteries. I think power banks were also invented more recently is due to the need for them by smartphone users.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
You are very correct with the assertion that old model phones don't really require power banks. In fact, they are built to have a very strong battery and also they don't come with applications that drains batteries too much the way it is with smartphone.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
What I like about old phone models is their durability. Aside from their simplicity, they can also withstand great impact.

Remember how the phone sometimes falls and we wouldn't be that afraid of breaking it? I even saw someone who threw it against the wall. Surprisingly, it didn't break and it still worked.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I also wonder why we keep so many apps. Most of them just drain our phone's battery. And they're even as useful as we'd like to think. So removing some of them goes a long way towards prolonging our phone's battery life.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
Not a lover of power banks, because I had a very terrible experience with one of those. Apparently, that was the cause of damaging my old cell phone, they don't have exactly the same voltage as regular charges, and that variation eventually damages the battery on your phone. They switching between those two power sources, made my phone went completely crazy and it broke down. So, personal experience, don't trust on those things, bring your charger with you and save your phone.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

fishbate
That's unfortunate but it maybe just an isolated case. Standard voltage of power banks are 3.7 to 5VDC. Its basically the standard specification on common phones. What happened to your power bank maybe a power module problem. But your right why not just bring your charger with you and plug it....

It maybe just because of technology's fast evolution, people tend to get what's new...

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
True. Also, what you say about people getting what's new is practically a must, everybody wants to have whatever comes out in the market. I've never been that kind of people, the one that based her life depending on what's trending, but I wanted to give power banks a chance, because it really bothers me to run out of battery on my cell phone.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Thankfully, I haven't had that experience. Although, I experienced a similar case. It was when I used my phone USB charger instead of the actual charger. It kind of had a glitch for a few minutes. I stopped charging it using laptop's USB after that.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
You may be right. Now I'm thinking twice about using it on expensive phone models. They're not easily replaceable. They're too pricey. So I'll happily stick with their official chargers.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Wow, that's so very unfortunate of you and your phone with the use of power banks. I have heard some stories about power banks having effects on phone battery but I haven't seen one who it actually ruined his phone battery until I read about your own case now. But from what I know about power banks is that the company sets its charging voltage to be on normal level so as not to damage the phone batteries.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
Well, it's not really the powerbank's fault since they usually indicate their voltage and if they can be used on the phone that you have, so it's best to check first the compatibility before using it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
True. I know maybe it was my fault by not checking about it, but I was completely new in all these power banks. But honestly, when you buy one, shouldn't the seller let you know these things? Also, my sister has her power bank, with the same phone model as me, and is working just fine, that's why I guess the gadget had some issue.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
Yeah, the seller should've also specified if you can use it on your phone, or it should've been tested first to make sure it doesn't have any problem whatsoever.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
Yeah, I got so mad about it, but at least I learned my lesson, and I'll be more careful next time. I'm not a big fan of gadgets, but I really needed a power bank, or something that could help me out with my phone's battery. Anyway, thanks for the feedback and support, really appreciate it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
Yeah, other people also hate bringing power banks since they can be bulky, so they just bring extra phone batteries which are fully charged instead.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
This is interesting. I like that many have had successful use in terms of power banks. Maybe it's a different case for everyone. You just have to be aware of what it's doing to your phone.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

fishbate
Power banks are basically an emergency tool or a power back up. I think it's necessary because of its use specially in emergency situations. Although people may think that its just good for backing up your phone for entertainment or gaming, i still believe that power banks has more important use than that.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
I don't think that there is anything or any more need for having power banks other than to serve as an emergency power supply to one's phone and other electronic devices in times of power failure. Power banks are built solely for that purpose and using it for other purposes might either damage the power bank or damage what it was used on.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

People should assess themselves on how much do they use their mobile phones. This is because In my opinion, its not necessary to have a power bank. If you are a heavy mobile user for important transactions, then it is a must that you always have a power bank ready whenever you run out of battery. But if you are just a regular user of mobile phone where you can conserve batter and wait till you get to a place where you can charge, then it is really not a need to get a power bank.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
You've got a point where most heavy users should try to get an alternative battery charger since it is a way that they can get to stay active on the go. I don't let my device rest for any reason and that has made me get a power bank since it is one way that my mobile device won't go off easily.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Now the question is how many people in the world today are not addicted to using their phone devices 24/7? There are some people who can't literally make it a day without their phones for several purposes such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Whatsapp, SnapChat, and all other social media sites that I can't begin to mention here. So, in this situation a power bank is needed always by such phone users.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes I do, I usually use my smartphones and tablet to do my online work and I always bring my 2 power banks with me, wherever I go, I have an 8400 and a 10800 capacity power banks and it offers me a continuous online experience of about 36 hours until both runs empty. Without it my smartphone would run only for about 6 hours online.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

fishbate
Yeah, online activities nowadays are so efficient that most transactions are done online. Actually we are spending more time online than other activities in a day which makes our devices in demand. Unfortunately the technology of battery is still the same even with efforts to make it more efficient.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Exactly. Ever since I started working online as a freelancer, my phone battery alone cannot serve my online business needs. So, I have to add constant backup power supply with with power banks. I even go to the extent of going out with my phone chargers in case there is a need to charge the device if I'm in a location where there is electricity.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Powerbank is a necessary partner with your devices since we do a lot of stuffs with our phones and tablets in order to avoid any interruptions in whatever applications running. It is also a necessity whenever there is an unavoidable electricity disruption to sustain the battery life even in the temporary absence of electricity.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Exactly. When you are 80% hooked up with your phone on daily basis, there is no way the phone battery power would be able to sustain your days activities with the device. So, it's better to have a backup power bank that would help put you through the day with the device in all your online task.

We have regular power cuts. And also we have issues with the internet. And so having power bank is necessary if you want to do something. Because not having power banks is going to have issues when things don't go right with the power bank. And for this you can see that having power bank is necessary in many ways. I'd recommend that you check out having one in that case. And it's also cheap these days.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
You are very correct my friend, there are good power banks in the market today that are of cool quality and are still cheap and affordable. A friend of mine got 10,000 mAh for about $13. I'm looking forward to upgrading my current 15,000 mAh power bank to either 30,000 mAh or 40,000 mAh if I can get the product.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

For me, it's necessary because we can use it in case of emergency. I always bring my power bank with me wherever I go and I proved that it's useful because it saved me for a lot of times especially when I'm in a long travel. I always bring it not just for myself but also for my friends or anyone that will be needing it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Exactly. I would never leave my house without both my power bank and phone charger because of the serious electricity problem that we always experience here. So, being with my charger would afford me the opportunity to always charge my phone anytime and anywhere I see electricity.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Absolutely yes. Most specially for those who are in some remote areas. I stayed in our province for like more than a year, and the main problem in our place is the about electricity. They used to turn off the power supply every weekend. It seem like a burden for those who are actually in need of it to contact their loved ones in the City. Wealthy families in our place all has a generator to use everytime the power is out.
Wayback 2014 if I am not mistaken, a strong typhoon hit our province. We suffered living without a power supply for almost two months. I am still in college that time, I am alone. I used almost all my allowance for paying 10-20pesos just for a cellphone and power bank charging for my extra power supply almost everday because I need to contact my parents from the City. And so I say yes. Power banks are important in times of such crisis and emergencies.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Exactly. I understand and know what you mean because I have felt and experienced it first hand in my remote village. We don't have electricity yet, it's been wired but the transformer is yet to arrive. So, we most rely on generator power. Having power banks is the only way to ensure that you have your phones charged when the generator is not powered on.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
It really depends on your phone usage. I'm a very heavy smartphone user and I need to be online wherever I am so whenever I go out, my phone's data or wifi is connected, this eats up a lot of my battery power, that's why I always have 2 power banks with me, that offers days of uninterrupted online connection.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Exactly. I'm just the same way when it comes to how often I use my phones for internet and online business. Even though I still have my laptop for such purposes, I still rely on my mobile devices for much of the time as a result lack of constant electricity. So, the power banks helps a lot in keeping my phones well charged until I see electricity.

I find it handy - I don't know that it's an absolute necessity for me with where I live and my line of work, but sometimes if I'm doing things that are chewing through my battery and I'm out on the go, it's convenient to have.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yeah, it's basically the assurance of not having a problem when your phones battery runs out. If your using your phone as means of business transactions i think it's essential to have one,

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

As long as there is always a need for you to charge your mobile phones once you have left your home and you simply can't take your phone charger with you nor can you be able to see where to plug the phone to charge, then it's better and more convenient to have your power bank with you.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think that power banks are really a necessity nowadays. Phones are getting powerful but they aren't packed with high capacity batteries. Having one in your backpack during travels is very convenient because you don't have to worry about your phone or other mobile device's battery getting drained.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
You have a very good point my friend about how important power banks are today for phone users. Most phone companies are more interested in upgrading all the other features in their phone products except the battery capacity of the phones. It's only few phone devices that you would see that carries up to 6000 mAh. So, as a result of this, power banks are a huge necessity.

The power bank is absolutely necessary for me. Electricity is very unreliable here and I use my mobile device a lot. I don't want to run out of battery back up, therefore, I use powerbank.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I can definitely relate to this. I have usual power issue in this side of the place. I can tell you that some of the time it can lead to more or less issues in due process. Another thing is that power banks if have more capacity can be really good for the multiple device charging.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Welcome to my world my friend with having the same poor and unstable as well as an unreliable electricity. Let it not surprise you when I tell you that I haven't seen electricity since morning and now it's 7:57 pm. I'm not sure it's ever going to come on again today, so had I not have a power bank, how would my phone still be on till now? It's unbelievable what we experience with power failure.

It really depends on the person. People who use their phones 24/7 definitely need a power bank. Having a phone ready to use is very important at this time, especially in emergency situations. My biggest fear is to run into an accident or really need to call someone, only to find my phone dying and out of battery. Power banks are a great back up but I don't think everyone needs them.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
There are lots of people who can't afford to buy a laptop that would be easy for them to carry about for their online and internet business, so they have to depend on their phones 24/7. Such persons, there is no way their phone battery alone can serve them in a day, so they are definitely going to be needing power banks to help see them through the day without having a dead battery phone.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Marako0406
Yes it is necessary to own a power bank nowadays just to give extra juice and life to your daily driver gadgets that you always bring every single day. I really thought that It's not just a phone accessory but a source of life to every gadget I use. It also serves as a lamp at night when I am too lazy to turn on the physical limp beside my bed since the power bank I have right now has its led light up top and can stand vertically. Definitely will recommend to others to buy the ones with led light because it is very useful in any dark situation like camping and the likes.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Some people are just lazy to even charge their phones when the battery is down until the electricity goes off and it's only their power banks that helps to save them from having a dead phone. On using the power bank touch, I do not worry about that because I have a small phone that has a torch and it's what I use at night when I sleep.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Powerbanks changed how people used their phones. Back then many of us used it less intensively for fear of not having enough battery to last all day. Add to that the fact that you may not be able to charge it where you're going. But due to its emergence, many are now confident to use their phones at full capacity knowing they can recharge it anywhere.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

aeon
And aside from phones, you can use the power bank to charges your pocket wifi and LED lights if you were in isolated area where there's no electricity, and I saw many females now using the DC fan or mini fan in public utility vehicles that can operate with power bank.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
@aeon The capacity of the power bank would be the deciding factor in being able to use it to charge other electronic gadgets that needs to be charged. If the mAh capacity of the power bank is small, it wouldn't be possible to use it and charge bigger electronic gadgets.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Power banks are normally referred to as mobile electricity because it serves as stored power that can be used anywhere and anytime one have the need for it. Normally, I would say the power banks are built for the developing countries where there is insufficient electricity, and as a result of that, people need a source to store power.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

This power bank is very important for me, I need this. But since some 24hours convenience store already has the charging station, and all you need is to insert some coins to charge your phone and because of that, I just normally use my power bank for a long travel now.

My power bank was very helpful last summer, when there was a lot of activities happened. Aside from charging our phones, it helps us to charge the LED lights, mini fan, and even the pocket wifi when we were doing the outdoor activities like camping.

It's very for me to be be fixated in the charging station for 1-3 hours in order to charge my phone when I can use my power bank to move around where I want to go instead of being at the charging station for long period of time. Power banks are very convenient to use, so I would pick it over using charging stations to charge my phone.

I always carry a backup battery just for personal security. I do not want to take the chance that I am injured, stranded somewhere, or in danger and my phone chooses that moment to run out of charge. Even with the best phone sometimes I forget to charge it overnight and don't notice until much later. It never hurts to have a backup.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That's true preparation is always wise to do. Even though some people say that it's too much, its still better to have something to count on in times of trouble.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That definitely sounds like me! I often wake up, get ready to start my day... look at my phone's battery and see 10% left. I forget to charge it before sleeping/during. Power banks have saved me many times before and I think that considering the cost, it isn't that hard to buy and carry it with you.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Well, carrying extra battery can only be possible if your phone's battery is a removable one. Most Android devices now come with non-removable batteries, thereby making it impossible to carry extra battery. So, in such circumstances, you are left with the option of carrying power bank.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Well, I can see how some people would find power banks to be a necessary accessory for their smart phones. I personally don't much care for them, because I don't use my phone enough to be draining the battery. That being said, I know that there are plenty of people out there who are constantly on their phones and draining the battery, so they could definitely use an extra power supply. It all depends on what you use your phone for and how long. Someone who plays games and watches YouTube videos is going to need more power than someone who just texts and makes brief phone calls.

I think so too. Maybe it's necessary for some but not for everyone. I bought a phone few months ago but I did not purchase a powerbank. I think whether to buy a powerbank or not depends upon your lifestyle. Since I am almost always at home, I don't need back up for my battery. Whenever I am at work, I can use outlets to charge my phone in case I drained the battery. Lastly, phones nowadays have large battery capacity. My phone has 5,000 mAh and I think that's quite big enough.

Again, I think it depends upon the person's lifestyle. If you are usually out of your house, then it's necessary for you have powerbank to make sure that you always have back up for your battery. Especially since we can never tell what might happen.

Yeah I know several people who practically only go home to go to sleep, but that is the kind of lifestyle that I can't imagine. If they're not at work they're always out and about somewhere, places where there is no guarantee that you are going to have an outlet. Someone who lives that kind of a lifestyle definitely needs to have a power bank, as you never know where you're going to be when your battery runs out.

But I work from home and just about only go out for groceries and the occasional lunch date, so I can hardly say I need a power bank for that kind of lifestyle.

Well, if you have no much use for your smartphone on daily basis, then there wouldn't be any need for having to purchase power bank. Also, the issue of availability of electricity is another thing to put into consideration. When there is abundant electricity always, one wouldn't have any need for power banks because they will have the means to charge their phones any time they want.

Well, I think it is a necessity to some people especially those heavy users. Having a power bank in bag is not a big deal for it will also serve as your aid to emergency situations like you need to call for someone as soon as possible. We never know when we will do an emergency calls so your mobile phone should have a battery life at all times, that is the time having a power bank is very useful especially if you are not at home from early in the morning until at night. In fact, I have a power bank with me while I go out. Though recharging power banks is very consumable for electricity. My power bank usually consumes almost a half day just to fully fill it with energy.

Exactly! Power bank producers did an excellent job in making the device to be very portable and easy to be carried about either in a bag or held in the hand without feeling too heavy. Power banks comes in different sizes but most of them are in rectangular shape. If the device had been heavy to carry about, I don't think most people would be comfortable moving about with it.

Doesn't really mean necessary. It's necessity is on a case-to-case basis. They can be most useful for emergency purposes. So "necessary" applies for those who always need their phone turned-on always having important messages either from work or home. Nevertheless, power bank is really a great help and I own one too.

If you have much work to do with your smartphone, then you can never do without power banks because there is no way of getting the opportunity to always plug your phone directly to the electricity to charge. And also the issue of erratic power supply, you will have to need power bank on a regular basis to keep your phone battery from dying on you.

I do believe that power banks has become a necessary tool for smartphone owners and gadget owners. Having one or two fully charged power banks can extend or charge your smartphone battery for maximum usage.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Exactly, with the kind of application and inbuilt software most smartphone comes with which drains battery fast, there is no way of doing without using a power bank. It's only one phone company that builds their phones with enough battery power capacity that will serve 24 hours a day without dying and it's Gionee. One of their phones comes with 6000 mAh battery capacity.

It's a necessity nowadays specially when you're going out with your gadgets, and you need to be online 24/7 then you really need a power bank.

For the past 4 days now we haven't seen electricity, so you can imagine how hard it's going to be keeping one's smartphone from getting drained up with the battery life. It's only with the use of power bank that I'm managing to still have my device on for longer periods during the day.

I don't really think that it's a necessary accessory but it's definitely a good one. You can still quite easily use your phone for daily things but obviously, you have to be careful how much battery you have left, charge it at an electrical plug, etc.

The power banks are just so extremely convenient since it allows you to keep using your phone without any interruption even if you're in the middle of nowhere. I have two power banks and if I know that I'll be gone for many hours, I take one just in case!

Some circumstances would make power banks to be very necessary and one of such circumstances would be availability of electricity in one's area of residence. If there is abundant electricity, then there wouldn't be any need for power banks. Remember, it's not good to all phone battery to turn off depleted at 0%. It kills the battery life.

I disagree I think while a power bank is helpful in a country or place with frequent power cuts it was not designed for that purpose In a less developed country most people don't have the purchasing power to buy a power bank. Power banks were designed for more developed countries where they have higher purchasing power. They were designed for when the phone user is not at home, maybe they are travelling or at the movies or at a ball tournament, then they can still charge their phones. They are definitely necessary.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I disagree with you on this. Yes, purchasing power is a factor in some cases but it's definitely not the essence of building the power banks in the first place. If you look at it that way, then smartphone should also be exclusive for developed countries alone but that's not the case.

The first and main purpose of building power banks is to serve the needs of developing countries where there isn't constant electricity to charger their phones.

Yes. It serves its purpose in our cellphones. But as for me I only use it at times where I have to go somewhere far. As for now I do not bring it daily since I can charge in my workplace, in which lessens my electricity bills. I only have one powerbank in which helps me throughout the day ahead. I do not purchase powerbanks for wants only cause this is just a waste of money. Think in every thing you buy it may be your needs or your wants. Weigh them.

Exactly. When you are traveling on a long distant journey and still have the need to use your smartphone all through the course of the journey, then making use of power banks is very important. It's only in the car front seat one can charge phone but with power banks, you can do so seating anywhere in the bus.

I really think power banks are here to stay. What would be way cooler is if there would be solar powered power banks, having this innovation would be very convenient to a lot of people because one only needs some sun to charge their power banks.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I have a solar power bank but the problem is that its solar panel doesn't charge the battery well, so it drops very quickly when I'm using it to charge my phone.

If there would be an upgrade in the solar panel used, it's definitely going to be very helpful.

Communication is very important and our phones are our topmost means to communicate with a business partner, families and also loved ones. I believe that power banks are necessary as a phone accessory especially in places that haven't had electricity power or experiencing power outages for more than a half year now. It gives much convenience for our daily use mostly when we're out and no place to charge our phones.

For the past one week now, our electricity has been very erratic and faulty. Since morning till now at 4:30 pm, we haven't seen any electricity and you can imagine the life of a freelancer without electricity, it's an impossible one.

My device is still on now as a result of my power bank. Although I have plugged it to charge at the moment to be used in the night once the light does not come back.

Of course yes, power bank is very useful for our phones. The use of this is incase of emergency and we are on travel or somewhere where there has no electricity, we can charge and we are able to still on track. This little tool is not waste of money it is very powerful tool for us. This is worth buying.

Whoever that says power bank is a waste of money definitely don't have any clue on how important the device is to smartphone users.

As long as there is lack of power supply in any part of the world, power banks are very important commodity.

Powerbank is a great backup in case of an unexpected power outage. We can easily charge our device when the battery is low. A very portable accessory that provides support for our gadgets. I understand that chargers exist, but what if you get stuck in an area without a power? Having a power bank will definitely save you. Aside from this, power bank is a charger for multiple devices. Bringing one charger for all the devices that you have is a powerful weapon. Having these said, power bank is considered as an important accessory.

Undeniably, powerbank is a useful device not only in times of power outage but also when travelling. It can save our phone from being battery empty and most importantly, it can give us peace of mind. It is also portable, thus, it's easy to carry anywhere you go. It comes with different sizes and colors that could suit your personality. Plus, it's not that expensive too. With all these positive things about powerbank, obviously, it's a necessary cellphone accessory.

I think powerbanks are for people who use their phones/gadgets a lot, specially when they go out which usually may be difficult to find an electric outlet. Powerbanks are also good for travelling because it's more efficient. However, I don't think that owning one is not a necessity specially if you're not a heavy gadget user or if you're just staying at home where there are available electric outlets. Having a powerbank depends on the need of a person who owns a gadget.

I guess it depends on the lifestyle or needs of the person if they use their gadgets a lot or not. Some use it just for calling and texting while others also use it for their business.

Personally, same as my mobile phone, I don't leave the house without it. This is because I use my phone to transact business, at the same time I use my navigation app a lot to go places. I feel paranoid if I ran out of battery while driving especially if the place is not familiar to me.

On the other hand, I gave my partner his own powerbank but he never used it.

So it really depends on your needs.

Yes, this is a great invention as an accessory for a phone. This is important especially if you have important things to do like a business related or just for casual use. In this generation, we use a cellphone almost everyday to check messages, check emails, communicate with others, play games, check social media sites, etc. There are some applications that will drain your battery faster and it's a hassle if you will plug in a charger and you'll stay on that location for a while. We are busy people and you might have some other things to do and you can't stay in one place while you're charging. Power banks are portable and you can always charge your cellphone wherever you're. It's very convenient and will save time and effort.

Yes. That's why power banks are created in the first place. Power bank is really a life saver specially when you are travelling or attending long seminars which you usually use your phone a lot. Also, there are phones that really don't last that much and needed to be charge midway through the day. Personally, I am a heavy user and 5 hours of use will eventually drain by battery out. Having a power bank as my back usually do the trick. It is portable, convenient and I can bring it wherever I go.

For a person who travels a lot, power bank really helps during those time where electrical outlet is nowhere to be found. Its very important to have it so that during mid-flight where you caught up in doing things and your battery went low you wont panic finding an outlet. It is very good to have these back-up power so I can continue my work wherever I am.

I own at least one of these power banks but have no idea where it is, which shows how useful to me it isn't. However, I live in the United Kingdom and an area with constant power. When traveling, I use my car cigarette point with an adapter to charge my phone. That said, I am sure if I knew I was going somewhere where the power might fail, or camping, I might look the thing out. I bought mine from Poundland, but it works quite well when I do get round to charging it up for use.

Well Power bank is a necessity these days and I do always have it with me as a kind of backup. I don't need to use it on a regular basis but it becomes handy whenever you forget to charge your battery and you need the phone urgently . It's a popular, but a very useful product for someone like me who does almost everything on the phone ,right from surfing the net , paying bills, to ordering food online.

Power banks are pretty much helpful these days and I will consider it as a necessary phone accessory. It makes phone charging convenient and it is quite handy, so it's a big plus. Though there's also its negative effect to users as they might use their phone more often than advisable. Fake manufactured powerbanks are also something we should refrain from.

In my personal opinion, yes we need a power bank. Many people use their phone from the instant they awaken. phone will become the lifestyles of many people they can't live without it. There’s nothing to be hesitant about that although due to the fact smartphones are very beneficial to connect with other people and use as a form of leisure.

It was necessary until just recently. Leading mobile companies such as Samsung are getting into perfection the developments of their batteries as well as power management when it comes to their phones. Soon enough for those who could afford them, mobile phones would be packed with enough powers to survive days at their maximum potentials without needing a second supply of power source.

Those good and reliable power banks are heavy and bulky and just is not worth it. I think I'd rather look for an outlet than carry these things. If there is a power bank out there that's lighter, much lighter, and with the charging capacity that's decent and fast, I'd go for it. So far, what I've seen and used are not good ones.
