Make your own moon sand!!!!!! SIMPLE!

Hey guys!! Since i got such a good response with the homemade playdough, im going to share with you how to make your own moon sand. you know that sand you see on tv, that sticks together and you can mold it into shapes and it isnt messy like real dry sand? Well i have the easiet 2 ingredient recipe for you guys!

What you will need:
1 cup of baby oil
8 cups of all purpose flour

THATS IT!
Mix it together with a spoon or whisk and you have your very own moon sand.

You can also add coloring and glitter to make it even more fun! Hope you all enjoy, and make sure you look for more arts and crafts discussions from me, I will be posting LOTS!

This is very cool! Its hard to imagine that all it takes is 2 things and then its done. I wonder what gives it the sandy feel its obvious what give it the slime feel to it. We have to make this with the kids again i am sure they loved it. Our little one would probably go crazy for it she loves weird feels and textures. I have a few questions, does this dry out easily? How do you keep this stored so it doesn't get moldy or dry? Moon sand even though its so easy to make why don't more people make it? Is this something we can go into business with and start selling? You know me im always out to make a buck lol! Thanks for sharing and i look forward to more arts and crafts for the kids!

Great questions jkeyz! and thanks for responding! If you store the moon sand in an air tight container it shouldnt dry out or get yucky! There are also other ways to make it but this one is pretty safe and smells pretty good!

Seriously that simple? I would love to give this a go and do a blog post on my website.

I was thinking of looking a moon sand recipe a while back to try out but I had no idea it was so simple or I would have done it ages ago. Perhaps I can do it this weekend since I have both of these ingredients on hand.

Thanks so much for sharing this easy moon sand instructions. I did see other recipes but this one is completely natural and easy.

Oh I definitely will. I have all your craft ideas now in a list of things to do. I am always wanting new ideas to share on my mommy blog too.

I have done no cook soft dough, foam dough, foam bath paint, paint, snow, glitter glue... so many things that have been loads of fun and all also with things you normally have on hand at home.

Your craft ideas have been an awesome tool to me for I tried doing some of the homemade crafts you taught how to do in your other articles and in as much as I couldn't do it perfectly, I tried it. The moon sand is another one I will add to that list.

I tried to make moon sand before using coconut oil and cornstarch. This was a success and the kids loved it. I want to try your method now and see how different is your moon sand from mine. Thank you for sharing about this. You seem to know a lot about crafting. That's awesome.
