10 Real Scary Haunted Attractions to Visit: The Blackout in NY and LA

Okay so hopefully you've read my first real haunted attraction recommendation, and you've been waiting with anticipation for the next one. Because you simply need more of a real scare rather than some spoofy, superficial haunted house where the performers aren't allowed to touch you and you get about as scared as a kitten wrapped up in a ball of wool! If that is you, or if my first real haunted attraction wasn't enough for you how about my next suggestion!?

2. The Blackout in New York and LA

Things aren't as scary when you do them together right? When you have someone next to you or someone's hand to hold right? Well what about if you had to do it alone? And what about when those actors and performers in those other spoof haunted houses can't touch you? It makes it seem so superficial right? Well The Blackout in New York and LA is one of those spoof haunted houses where the actors and performs CAN touch you! In fact, you'll have to sign a waiver first before you are allowed to enter this house because by doing so you will experience an extremely horrific and terrifying experience no matter how rough and tough you think you are!

The Blackout subjects you to a full on extreme horror and adult experience, small dimly lit spaces, strange sounds, lights and effects and other real physical contact from people crawling to arms grabbing you to being sprayed with water and blood and all sorts like that. Some people have reported being groped and forced to put things in their mouths, and even getting peed on or covered in "used" condoms and the like. Yuck right!?

In fact, it's such a sensory deprivation that you're given a "safe word" when it all gets too much for you and you want out. Just shout out the safe word and they all leave you alone and you can leave. But anyone that does that is usually laughed and mocked at as they leave as part of their de-ritualization and experience. The Blackout in New York and LA is very reminiscent of Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story but only, you have to do it alone!

I found a photo of the Blackout Haunted House Rules you must follow which makes for some pretty interesting reading and shows sort of what you can expect that they even need these rules in place in the first place!

This looks insane lol! Nightmares for months if i went to see this thing. Sexual and violent situations? I guess for the amount you pay maybe some nudity is good! Buahahahaahaha! This one is so good that it looks real and that is what scares me the most. Once you get inside it will be hard to determine what is real and what is fake. How hard could it be to find the actors that will do this kind fo work? How much does it cost to set one of these up. These are the questions that interest me. I guess in NY and LA you have many aspiring actors so with those two locations its probably easy to find workers. Hey man thanks for sharing i appreciate all your posts!

Wow, the black hunted house is already giving me the creep even when I'm yet to be there, I definitely love the sense of fear in anything. Imagining how one would really be so frightened in such horrific place is bringing down cold chills down my spine.

With Halloween around the corner, definitely I think it's the fear factor that mostly everyone is looking at now, the things that have the greatest propensity to scare the living day lights out of anyone is trending now.

That looks really scary to me. I think I may not having fun in it but i want to try it. I want to level up entering haunted house or booth every halloween. To do it alone? I hope I can go out alive. Just kidding. Maybe I apply for scaring people in this one.
