Homemade Sugar Scrub; Great idea for gifts!

I love using a sugar scrub, especially in the shower. It helps get all the dead skin off, and leaves you nice and soft! You can use it just for your hands or your feet!

I have an easy homemade recipe for your very own scrub!

1 cup of brown sugar
1 cup of white sugar
olive oil or warmed coconut oil
vanilla (optional)

Mix the brown and white sugar together and then start adding your oil, a little bit at a time let it bubble down and then add some more and repeat if needed. Mix with a spoon to make it easier, add some vanilla for fragrance and thats it!! Pour it all into a jar and the best part about it is you can give these as gifts for family and friends!!

So this is like that stuff you can buy at bath and body works? I always thought that they came with a handle so that you can scrub your feet. Do you just pour this stuff on and rub it until your skin falls off? You can tell im such a guy when it comes to this kind of stuff LOL! I was thin king maybe i could gift something like this to my mom and grandma. What i like most about this gift idea is that it is all natural and made from things you already have around the house. Vanilla extract smells so good it probably transfers the smell well when used like this. Thank You for sharing and keep them coming im sure this will help people in the future.

no no, its not really solid. you store it in a jar and then kinda just scoop some out with your hand and rub it all over. hands arms legs feet! makes it sooo soft!

Oh this is a lovely idea Ermini2

I love body scrubs so this would be so nice to make for myself. The bonus is very often I have these ingredients on hand most of the time. Regarding the vanilla, do you mean vanilla essential oils? I am guessing here that I could play around with different fragrances here and maybe even add a drop of food coloring to make it pretty colours?

Using olive oil would probably be more convenient because I always have some at home but I think the coconut oil would probably be so much nicer for my skin.

Cool and easy to do gift option. I never knew sugar had scrubbing properties and it can actually help your skin, thanks for the share! If it doesn't turn solid then its basically similar to honey right? Wonder if honey has the same properties...

its the coarseness of the sugar that helps get the dead skin off, sea salt is also another good alternative! and i have a recipe for that too!

its not really like honey, but its not solid solid, its like a grainy semi liquid paste. its hard to explain. and these are so perfect for gifting to mom, grandma, aunts, and teachers!!

This looks interesting and good but I think it's going to be useful to only those that enjoys sugary stuffs. Me personally I don't fancy sugar intake, I try as much as possible to avoid getting it in my meal.

Even the tea I normally take, I prefer it without sugar. I just don't like the taste of it food.

Coconut oil is really good for the skin. I apply organic coconut oil mostly everyday on my skin and I can feel the difference. My skin is softer now. Sugar is known for its exfoliating properties. This scrub seems to be a good one to try. A combination of coconut oil and sugar will definitely work wonders.

I like to have one but I don't have many dead skin as you think. I am so defensive to that. Sounds funny right? Anyways, if it is good for the skin then I should try it. I always care for my skin even I am a man. I want my skin as fair like the girls or when I am a baby. But sometimes, it can't avoid to have some scratch because I always play basketball. But I have so much fun playing it so I don't care about that.
