Check your battery life by dropping them...?

I'm sure we have all been in a postion where we aren't sure which battery is good and which is bad...so we just replace them all....I just found this amazing life hack on how to test your batteries without needing that special little battery checker device.

So if you just drop the battery from a height of six inches on to a flat surface. If they bounce and fall over, theyre good! If they bounce more than once, then theyre empty!

I love this because for some reason, we go through way too many batteries.

This life hack is very cool. I would've never of thought to drop a battery to determine just how much charge the battery has left. I use to think if you were to drop a battery than the battery acid would come out and it's toxic, ever heard of someone throwing battery acid on another person? Yeah, toxic and corrosive.

I wouldn't drop the battery from a high height instead I would follow what the video shows, and drop it at least 2 inches and not more. If there is liquid on your hands after the battery drops then you just busted the battery. :/

I wonder also if dropping batteries effect the battery life, and charge itself. Batteries do cost a lot, and if people are constantly dropping them to test the charge then I may invest in the battery stocks! LOL.

i thought it was pretty cool myself as well.

youre right about it being very toxic if the battery breaks. i agree with you, i prolly would do exactly what the guy did in the video, less distance between the battery and the surface, is probably a smarter idea!

ehrm.. What? - Seriously?

I had no idea! I usually just change one out of two batteries for instance, and do this multiple times.. And that's a pain in the a**. I thought this was weird so I had to search for it and I came up with this:

So, it looks like you're right! - Thanks for sharing. Now I'll start dropping batteries! Check your battery life by dropping them...?

Geez this is going to like mega helpful! My son's one remote car takes a whopping 6 batteries in the car and another 2 in the remote and it is turning out to not only be very annoying but expensive too! I am so going to try this out!

Yeah and my daughter has the same one too... she got jealous and wanted one. Thankfully she mostly ignores it and plays with her battery-less dolls or I would have a real big problem!

We use batteries so often and we never know sometimes if they are good or bad. What a simple way to check this out. Sometimes when we have a remote die or a device die that uses batteries we are never sure what the problem is. After reading this im going to be able to tell especially when we find those batteries buried behind things we never know if they work or not. I always recommend rechargeable batteries they are the most cost effective way to save money on this type of energy. Just make sure you have double the amount of batteries you need so that when some are charging you have others to use. This is a incredible hack and im sure people all over will get some use out of this.

Ermm. Isn't it dangerous to drop batteries just for the sake of checking if it still has remaining lifespan? I mean, what if it will still hold up for a while and by dropping it, it suddenly went dead. Check your battery life by dropping them...? Also, one good way of reviving a dead or low battery is to place it under the sun. That always worked for me for the small batteries such as remote batteries,

thank you for this info i will try this with my batteries, lots of batteries that are made in china in my country are easily damage and cannot be used. so i prefer to test it first using this method if its good.

Thanks for another special and useful tip from you. So far, didn't know about this, and for sure I've had to buy new batteries, without this trick. What can I say about the remotes on TV, blue ray, and video games. Well, it looks like I won't be dropping them to the trash can but to the floor, to check its remaining charge. Some guy told me that sometimes you can extend the batteries's life by putting them in the freezer, I guess I will have to make the test.

Wow! Nice tips you got there bro. Thank you, I tried it and it is true it bounced more than once. The battery I tested is empty. It is such an easy hack and practical to see if the battery is drained or not.

I think there does not seem to be indicator for the batteries on drain part. So I make sure that I have spare battery always. Because that seems to be the way to manage the battery life. And if that can be managed then sure it is possible to get the battery properly controlled. I guess for each one of us we have to look for the draining part. If the use of the battery is regular then draining is something we have to watch out whenever possible. That seems to be the way to avoid running out of those batteries.

I don't have a battery checker device, and when I have to check battery life, I use it on a device that needs a battery to operate. When the device does not operate, I throw away the battery. Thanks for sharing this amazing trick. I hope to use this method to check battery life when I have to. I also need to remember bouncing once means has life, bouncing more than once means does not have life.

Wow! I never knew this hack all these while that I have been buying batteries and the thing is that I never had any need to check it. I will start doing that when I get the next battery from the market.

This is a wonderful tip, I never know that we can try to check a batterie in this way. I have always bought them and never checked them in any way, and yes it happened to me as the batterie was empty!

A quick video =9 minutes? Lol. Do people still use batteries? I thought nowadays we had rechargeables. Does this apply to all phone batteries @augusta if you test it on your phone one, I don't think you'll have a phone battery anymore?

A trick we use here is we bite the batteries to make them last longer. If you bite them and they don't keep working that means they are finished. But this was a few years ago. The last time I saw a battery. Sigh!

The hack seems awesome and cool. And also, I don't actually know if it's gonna work or not, but will probably try it for my own curiosity. Thank you for sharing! Check your battery life by dropping them...?

I have thrown away many batteries simply because I was unaware if they were still good. I never knew that by dropping your batteries you can get an idea whether you can still use them. I will try this from now on. I hope that this will work.
