What special event/holiday are you looking forward to go/celebrate soon?

What special event/holiday are you looking forward to go/celebrate soon?

We all love special occasions and sometimes, we get really excited that we would even prepare for it a few weeks or months before it arrives. Doesn't matter if it's your dog's birthday, or an event in your local town, or even internationally, we all love to do special things during those times specially if we do them with friends, families and loved ones.

What special event/holiday are you looking forward to go/celebrate soon?

As for me, I am really looking forward to celebrate the birthday of my sister because it is one of those time of the year where in we get the chance to eat homemade foods in various kinds cooked by none other than our own family relatives. It is also a gathering of some sort because sometimes, my other relatives from far places would go to our place just to celebrate with us - doesn't matter whose birthday or celebration it is.

There are for sure a lot of special events, holidays and festivals in the upcoming weeks or months. Are you expecting one?

Actually, my next celebration is my sister's birthday too. She doesn't like to make a big party, but she does like to have a big cake and dinner. So basically we cook something really delicious for her. She loves Sea food or Italian, so we try to cook a mix of both, her favorite music will be playing, and we invite her best friends to enjoy with us. It can get really messy with a bunch of people having drinks, chatting, and serving food all night, but she always gets happy and that is more than great for us.

Hmm. I wanna guess your sister's age but I am having a hard time.. She doesn't like to have a big party but at the same time, she likes to have big cake and foods. Is she a teenager still?

Anyway, the mess are always a part of celebrations. Whether we like it or not, we should embrace those mess with arms wide open. What special event/holiday are you looking forward to go/celebrate soon? That's why I myself, don't really like to have huge gatherings specially if it's in our house. But if we do it outside or have a catering service, that would probably be an exception. What special event/holiday are you looking forward to go/celebrate soon?

Oh is just that usually here in Latin America, when you say a big party, you mean a huge one. That involves music, decorations, food and dancing all night long. But when you say cake and dinner, that means a couple of friends at home, relaxing mode, dinner and singing happy birthday, just for let's say dinner time. We don't like huge gatherings either, but we always invite our closest friends for our birthdays, no one says no to some beers and birthday cake.

Seafood and Italian? That sounds heavenly! A nice dinner with friends and family is the best way to celebrate a birthday. It sounds like you have a wonderful, loving family!

I know right... we like to invite our friends home for birthdays, usually our closest ones, some beers or wine, dinner, and cake. She loves seafood and Italian, so usually spaguetti and shrimp pasta, or risotto frutto di mare, are the chosen ones. We like to cook everything from scratch, so it takes some time to get it done, but we always enjoy doing it for birthdays, and our friends love it too.

The coming school holiday will be on this Friday to next Sunday, a week holiday, no school, no homework, could sleep till late hours, that is what I am waiting for eagerly. We are planning to visit the theme park at Sentosa Island, near Singapore. There are roller coaster rides and theatres to watch. Looking forward to it !

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

galegatling
That's nice! I wonder what you are doing though since you have to sleep during late hours. Do you play video games or do movie marathons or go out and enjoy? What special event/holiday are you looking forward to go/celebrate soon? Be careful by the way on those coaster rides and always make sure that it's safe and secure. I've seen a lot of people falling out of those roller coaster rides because of malfunctions.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
Oh roller coasters are always my kind of plan, in fact theme parks are. When I was studying in Orlando, I got my annual pass for Universal, and I was more than happy every long weekend or holiday, seriously I never ever got tired of those. Let's say I'm in some way an adrenaline junkie, so anything that gets me the thrills is just a great thing to do for me.

Haha, nice roasted piggy. We always have them here at different festivals and it smells divine when you're walking by! Anyway, the next celebration for me will be my grandfathers birthday. He will be turning 82 years old in a week and we're planning on throwing him a big surprise party. I have already spoken with my grandmother and she told us everything that we need to buy so we can set it up. I am really excited because when we celebrate birthdays the whole family comes together and spends the day just bonding. It's my favorite time!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

galegatling
Yeah piggylicious! <3 I just hope that roasted one is served on our celebration but sad to say I just got that from the Internet. Would it be cool if you can just buy that from the Internet and the next day it's already at your doorstep smelling so, yummy. Lol.

That is really awesome! Nothing can really compare to the joy your grandparents are giving you while they still can. And that celebration is a wonderful one and should be cherished the most just like any other special ones. What special event/holiday are you looking forward to go/celebrate soon?

I think everyone looks forward to the Christmas holiday even those that don't celebrate it. It's just a holiday that puts everyone in a good and festive mood. Do you just not like eating pork, bacon and sausages or is it something to do with religion? We also tend to get together with other members of family as well, it's a great holiday because it brings everyone closer together

DarthHazard,
Yes you're right!, I am looking forward for Christmas Day. The spirit of Christmas brings back memories of my childhood. The gifts giving, family reunions, and the excitement feelings of opening gifts. I remember when I was young, I can't sleep before Christmas day. Guessing what will be Santa Claus gift by this time plus I'm excited because I'm pretty sure Santa will fill my sock full of candies that I hanged in the door. The next day, we have this Christmas party and my mom will invite all the children in the neighborhood and after the party all children will go home with gifts, game prizes, and most of all full of Joy!.

Every Christmas, I held Christmas party at home and I invite children, I just want to continue the legacy of my mother by bringing joy to the children.

I'm looking forward to celebrating New Year. We are just in the 8th month of the year, however, it's just been a stressful year for me. I wanted to end this year the fastest way possible and led a new year. This is just a bad year for me and I am hoping and praying that next year will be a productive and a happy year for me unlike this year.

I am actually really looking forward to Halloween. Fall is my favorite season, and this celebration of wild and elaborate costumes is always a very fun time. I like seeing what people dress up as and watching children have fun as they run around the neighborhood gathering candy from the neighbors. It is also very fun to figure out and choose what I am going to be for Halloween every year. I am also very interested in the history of Halloween as a pagan holiday and its roots in my Irish culture. I find it fascinating that this pagan holiday is so celebrated in the Western world of the United States.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

galegatling
Yeah Halloweens are also fun and memorable. One of my favorite special occasions before but we don't kind of celebrate it now anymore. Maybe because most of my cousins and relatives are already far away and we rarely see each other now unless there is a reunion or an important birthday celebration.

Halloween is so much fun and it really does rank up there as one of my most favorite holidays. I think I might even like it equally with Christmas because as fun as that holiday is, it also brings a lot of stress with it and at least with Halloween the challenge is much more fun because you just have to worry about costumes instead of finding the right gifts for others. I think I'd like Halloween even more if it weren't so hot here which makes wearing costumes kind of awful.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Destiny00
I agree, Christmas brings on so much stress that it can be hard to "get in the spirit." Halloween is all about fun! I live in upstate NY where in can get really cold in autumn - we often had to wear winter jackets over our costumes for trick-or-treating! But those beautiful, crisp October days leading up to Halloween are so magically spooky! My favorite!!

My cousin is getting married in September and I am so excited to attend the wedding. We have been planning for the wedding together and hope that it will be a great success. I have not still found the right dress to wear for the wedding. I guess this weekend I will be shopping again. Weddings are for sure fun but can be tiring especially when you have been entrusted with responsibilities. Once the wedding is over I might go for a small holiday in October but I have not really planned anything yet.

Our next holiday that we are going to celebrate is Christmas. I'm not sure if I am going to do anything for Halloween to be honest because I'm already feeling too lazy to go out and pick a proper outfit for a party. I'm also a lot more excited for Christmas because I just love the Christmas season. Everyone just becomes a lot happier, the music is great and who can forget the great food that you have with your family!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

galegatling
Yeah. No doubt about that. Christmas is probably the best holiday season in all over the world (unless people don't believe on it). Halloweens are nice too and we celebrate it as well. I think it will probably depend on your culture or who you are with. I am mostly near my cousins and relatives so we do celebrate small holidays and hang out together like a lot.

It's not a holiday but I'm mostly just looking forward to our next family trip. Usually we go to somewhere far away and cold which is great since I live somewhere tropical so the heat can be a little tiring at times, which is why I always look forward to going somewhere where the weather isn't so torturous. Not only that but having some time off can also be very good for me as I do feel stressed most of the time so I treasure my vacation time.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

This isn't unusual but on this thread this is unusual. Most people here are looking forward to holidays or special events of the year and sometimes, family trip is one of them. I agree too. Besides Christmas, which is my favorite holiday of all time, I'm really looking forward to Halloween. Ever since I was a kid, I have always adored Halloween. I still have very fond memories from my childhood of eating all those special Halloween edition candies while watching marathons of Disney Halloween specials. Even as an adult, I still watch all of those old Disney cartoons on Halloween and relive my childhood each year, and I plan on doing the same with my children as well. Not to mention that Autumn is my favorite season, so that only adds to why Halloween is so special to me.

Seems like a lot of you folks love Halloween. What special event/holiday are you looking forward to go/celebrate soon? I couldn't blame since I also love that special holiday. I mean, who doesn't? We would also watch movies that are related to Halloween such as scary ones. It is like we are obligated to watch them during that season since it would correlate with the theme and outfits that most kids are wearing throughout the holiday event. What special event/holiday are you looking forward to go/celebrate soon?

I'm actually getting pretty excited for Halloween this year. I've been getting into photography quite a bit recently, and I'm excited for the opportunity to do photography of people in masks and costumes, and in the dark! I've had the desire to make or purchase a custom mask of some sort and create a "character" of some sort around it. I'd essentially build a backstory or lore about this character and illustrate them through photography with a model.

No luck on a mask yet, but I suppose I've got a month to get prepared for it!

The next event that I'm going to celebrate is my mother's birthday that is on the 31 of August.
We usually have a great time together as a family and we do celebrate a lot.
I think that it is going to be a special day because we don't meet that often during the year though.

My favorite holiday is Christmas. Every year it is my most awaited event aside of having no classes and work it's the best moment to have a quality time with our family. It's also my favorite because on that event I have a chance to say that I love my mother so much and I'm very thankful to have her in my life. HAHAHAHA. Sounds weird but it's all true.

By the way, I love summer too for some reasons. lol
but it's not holiday so I guess it will not count

All holidays is favorite holidays. When I was a job in retailing store, most of the time, they didn't make any holiday for us. Christmas is my favorite holiday also because this season was meant for our family reunion and vacation. It is like, when Christmas all of
our relatives ill feelings will be discuss, this is also the time to
forgive one another.
My memorable holiday was 5 years ago. All my relatives gather together to enjoy, but now it seems of my busy
schedule, I couldn't afford to meet them in Christmas party anymore. I
feel dying inside, if I can't give myself into rest days. I don't
usually resting when I have vacant time but looking other sideline jobs.

Yes, I am really looking forward for Christmas day. Here in our country which is the Philippines, we are already decorating our houses and started planning in as early as September. You could already hear Christmas songs on the radio and televisions. As December approaches, our family members from across the country are starting to fly back here in the Philippines. We all celebrate Christmas together, we get to cook our own foods, play some games, watch the firework displays, exchange gifts, eat together and sing together.

My fiance is celebrating her birthday this September and it is an event I am really looking forward to considering how long we have been together, our highs and lows and how we stood for each other to conquer challenges that faced us.

I am planning to throw up a big party for her on that day to express how much I love and care about her. Maybe you would help suggest a birthday gift that I will be getting for you since you're a lady too!

I can't wait for that day to come to have fun and celebrate!

Wow. Your fiance is so lucky to have you as her boyfriend. It's not everyday you see that kind of relationship. I keep seeing people on the social media fighting about useless things and they would end up breaking up with each other.

I suggest you get her something that she doesn't like but without her knowing that you know that she doesn't like that specific thing. You follow me? If you get that to her and she should still appreciate it and would thank you for your effort. If not, then I don't know. Or just get her chocolates.

I also loved buying stuff to be my gift to my families and friends. We'll be celebrating the birthday of our dog!! He'll be turning 4. He's half chowchow and japanese spitz. But it's so sad that he's not here with us.
The next would be my friend's birthday, in which we'll treat her. It has been our tradition to treat the one who'll celebrate their birthday. And I'm hoping that we'll still stick to this tradition.

This is actually my favorite time of year. Halloween is coming up, and then after Thanksgiving the Christmas season begins. My son just turned two. Halloween! Me and the gang usually make our own Halloween fun because AMC doesn't celebrate it right anymore. They used to do MONSTERFEST, then it became FEARFEST. They mostly show bad horror movies or the same horror movies every year. EDITED FOR TV too... YUCK! FEARFEST doesn't even have hosts anymore, and they overshadow it with promos for THE WALKING DEAD like every 45 minutes. Terrible!

Like most people, I look forward to Christmas. In the Philippines, we celebrate Christmas as early as the last week of November. You can already see people hanging Christmas decorations and Christmas lights in their houses. Some kids already start doing Christmas carols and I just like the whole vibe of the lenten season. Everyone is in good mood, the weather is cold, everyone feels like giving and you get to connect with old friends. The best part about it is that bonuses come in bunches during this season! Yeah. You get your 13th month pay, Christmas bonus, holiday pay premium, performance bonus, Christmas basket, etc. What's not to love about that. On a more serious not, I love it because it's a reminder about how we were saved from our sins by our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

It's the second to the last day of August now, and the next day after tomorrow is the first day of September, it's already BER months. Almost time for Christmas again. Although, it's still has many days to go, just entering the BER months gives me the feeling of Christmas. I always awaits the Christmas holidays because it's a long vacation, with extra pays and really fun to celebrate. Personally, I don't look forward to holidays much. It's nice to get a break but that's all. I am a very active person and don't like to sit around for more than two days in that case weekends suits me much better. To be quite honest I don't take a liking to these types of events because it seems everybody is forced to take a break. Take Christmas for example. It seems the world shuts down for it but not everyone is a Christian.

I am a Hindu and in less than a month there will be Dushere, one of the greatest Hindu fesitvals. Dushera is when family gather, worship Goddess and celebrate victory of Gods over Devils. The legend has it, Goddess Durga killed demon Mahisashur and to mark the end of evil people began to celebrate Dushere. Dushere is a 15 days festival.
Just after the end of Dushera, in 15 days, there will be another Great Hindu festival called Diwali. I am looking forward to celebrate Dushere and Diwali.

I'm really looking forward to Halloween this year, not just because it's my favorite holiday, but because my favorite cousin (who is more like a sister to me) is expecting a baby girl on Halloween. I know babies don't usually come on their due date, so she probably won't actually be a Halloween baby, but she will be here around that time and I'm very excited to meet her! I won't get to meet the baby right away because they live in another state, but they will be here for Christmas, so I'm excited for that too.

I always look forward to celebrate the Christmas day here in Philippines. Every Filipino loves to celebrate Christmas. Christmas here in Philippines way extraordinary fun. You expect you will get reunited with you relatives and friends. You also expect there's a lot of food. We have custom here called "Simbang Gabi" or translated literally in English, Church at night. Basically, you go to church at night starting Dec 16. You will count 8 days until the Christmas Eve, and they say, if you completed that 8 days, you can wish and it will come true. It's just amazing how families are together going to church at night, the atmosphere, the kids *sigh* Another thing why the Christmas here in Philippines are way extraordinary fun is because of people who goes to your house and sing Christmas carols. It's just relaxing when you here them sing specially the kids and those who really prepare that kind of gig, some of them really brings guitars and some instruments. For me, this is the most special holiday that I am looking forward.

The only holiday I seem to get excited for every year is Christmas. It's probably due to the fact that I used to get a bunch of presents when I was a kid, so the feeling just stayed the same. Nowadays I don't really get anything but a full belly of food What special event/holiday are you looking forward to go/celebrate soon?!

For me the only event and the most awaiting holiday season that all people are waiting for is the "christmas day". Everyone in the world is waiting to this season because christmas day is the season of giving and sharing. It is the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. This is I think the event that we must celebrate because after a whole year that we've done bad things, christmas day gives us the opportunity to do good deeds by means of giving and sharing all the blessings we got to others. This is the season that im looking forward to celebrate soon because as of now, its "BER Months na"

Well new me "NEW YEAR". I always look forward for new year celebration because at this time I actually evaluate the things I have done for myself, my family, and to other people important to me. I am very fond on thinking of what I must improve for me to be a better person.

Also during this holiday my family gather in one house while waiting for the time to come we share happy and sad memories we have in the past year which make the our family bond stronger. The moment when we unite, shouting seconds of time, jumping and telling to one another to make your new year a better one than the old one is the best thing in new year.

Also we do not forget the 13th month pay.!

Every year I am always looking forward to celebrate Christmas. I always make sure that at the end of every year, we get to be cheerful and happy as a family. Our family schedules different dates to have dinner with relatives and make sure that it is a joyous experience for us and our kids. My sisters and I recently upped our Christmas plan by giving charities to our aborigine people here in the Philippines. We try to pool as much as we can to give to our fellows and make sure our kids are involved in doing it. So every year we look forward to the holidays and wrap our our year positive and hopeful.

Every year I look forward to the festival of Diwali. It is also called Deepavali and celebrated in India and many countries like Fiji, Guyana, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Trinidad and Tobago where Hindu population is considerable.

Diwali is celebrated every year in autumn in the northern hemisphere. Diwali is the festival of lights where everyone decorates their houses with lamps, candles and electric lights. Children and some adults bursts firecrackers. Everyone is in a relaxed and jovial mood. I visit my relatives and friends to have fun. The night time is filled with colorful and bright lights.

We have the longest celebration of Christmas in the Philippines. It actually starts on September 1. You will be surprised to hear all the Christmas songs when you turn on your radio. You will start seeing some of your neighbors have already put some lights up around their homes. When you go to the mall, you will be aware that Christmas season has already started because the decorations are already being sold. Now, who won't be looking forward to the most awaited day of the year?

Actually, this is not happening too soon but it worth to talk about. In October we will celebrate my son birthday, he will make 11 years, and soon after that in November, my wife will deliver our second baby. Unfortunately, we will not go traveling, and we will celebrate at home. These two events are the most important ones in my family this year!

Christmas and New year. I am excited because during those occassions, we set a little party here in our house. All of my relatives are visiting during Christmas and new year. We give equal share for the food to serve, we conduct games for kids and adults then give little prizes for the winners. It's a yearly routine of our clan. Since all of them are busy, Christmas and New year are the only occassions where we can be completed and be reunited.

I always look forward to birthdays because I get to eat lots of cakes and pastries. I look forward to Christmas and Eid as well because there's always a public holiday in my country which means I get to sleep, eat and have good fun.

Definitely, it is Christmas. I'm away from my family now and Christmas is the only time of the year where I could be with them. I couldn't ask for any holidays this world have but Christmas. Best highlights of it are spending quality time with my family, reunion with friends, the kris kringle, and giving gifts to all my family members and some of my dearest friends.

I'm looking forward celebrating the New Year's Day, well aside from Christmas, of course. I like believing that every year is a new chance for all of us, to start anew or to make our lives much better than the year that you are going to leave. It's a time wherein we should contemplate and try to think about things that you want to change, such example is setting some resolutions. New year's party is a symbol of positivity and new life.

What do you do during new year's eve, folks? Do you have firecrackers to light up or do you just play loud music and eat a lot on that day? Maybe drinking booze or just staying up with the whole family? Nonetheless, I hope everyone's safe and blissful during that time of the year!

Nothing beats celebrating Christmas in all holidays. This is the only time I feel the days are very special and the only time our family gets together in one roof. I have my own family now and I live far from my mom and dad. We have to travel by plane just to celebrate Christmas with them. There are times we don't get to go home on Christmas because Plane fares becomes to expensive. I always look forward to Christmas Day and I am now starting a count down.

The special event i am looking forward to is the celebration of our Family Reunion. I am very excited to have a bonding with my relatives. That's a great idea where in you will see them for the first time in personal and can even shake hands with them. You will be surprised whom are your relatives are and where they came from. You will find out how strong the blood you have and how you are united and tact. Knowing them is such a great opportunity. Aside from meeting them is the foods that will be serve during the occasion.

Two events are coming up, that I'm really excited about. One is my birthday next month. I have a big party planned. In the past two years, circumstances have forced me to learn two important lessons. To love me unconditionally because we are all human and unique, and to celebrate every moment in life. As a result, I'm having the biggest birthday party on earth, to celebrate me.

I 'm also looking forward to my vacation, and the chance to get away from home relax , unwind and get inspired. I 've planned to go to Dubai and shop till I drop.

Our country Nigeria independence from colonial rule on the 1st October this year just a few days away is the recent celebration that I'm looking forward to taking on. This year's own is definitely going to be different because of the circumstances and events that surrounds the political spectrum of the country.

There is tension between the three major ethnic groups in the country, the Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba. The Igbo's are looking to get their independence from Nigeria in the name of Biafra and this has been a serious problem in the country.

Igbo's in the northern part of the country dominated by the Hausa are asked to come back home to the east because nobody knows what would be the fate of the country come this 1st October of 2017.

I'm looking forward for Christmas and New Years' Eve for sure but before that there's Halloween, one holiday in my country and also I'm looking forward for a book fair that will take place next month in a city nearby. I don't know yet what I'm going to do for Halloween and there's a lot of things to do before Christmas but I'm excited for both.

I am looking forward to celebrate Christmas and New Year's Eve. These two occasions are very important days for me. I love Christmas aside from celebrating our Lord Jesus Christ's birthday, people around the world really giving gifts and spread love to one another and that is the most wonderful feeling when you knew that every one shared their love for family, friends and even strangers by giving gifts for them. New year gives us new change in our past life and if you really think that you can be a better person as the new year step to the next level then you can be able to do so. So I am looking forward every New year.

My son's birthday is coming up on December 1. I want to make it something special by cooking up a BBQ feast. It's my son's 15th birthday and he'll be inviting his whole class. So that means I need to prepare and cook a lot of special dishes all by myself.

Quarantine is over and thanks God the conference which I was waiting for one year wasn’t cancelled. I struggled hard to find the tickets for this conference, since it is going to be a private one and strangers aren’t welcomed. The topic of this conference will be pros and cons of 3D printing food. The most famous nutritionists and doctors will provide their explicit and detailed opinion on this debatable topic. There is a rumor that even the Kim Kardashian’s nutritionist will be one of the speakers. I can’t wait to hear his point of view. You know, they even have hired the most popular company (check their website https://www.ontourevents.co.uk/con...udio-visual-hire) on the market to deal with technical part. I expect this conference must be the biggest event of the year which will have an impact on future nutrition.

You reminded me of my trip from Miami to Los Angeles. It was wonderful. When my wife and I had our baby, I went to a yacht rental in Miami and rented a small yacht for the three of us. And we went on a trip for a few days. Surprisingly, the baby loved everything and felt even better than usual. So I can give you the contacts of a yacht rental service near me if you need. It might be helpful for you. I will write you a private message, and you and your family will decide together which boat to rent for yourselves.
