Businesses of the Future ?

We live in an ever evolving society , that is moving forward way faster than it has since the beginning of human civilization. In a matter of some years we communicate through great distances with great precision , and businesses are adapting  a world-wide mindset.

In that type of industry , what do you think will be some of the most profitable businesses of the future? The opinions that I have personally gathered from people are mostly in terms of technology. Things like robotics , engineering-medicine combined , bioinformatics , new type of entertainment (although I have no idea how that type of entertainment would work) , maybe even travel agencies for space vacations.

For example YouTube is a big thing that proved profitable for the creators that grabbed the chance early on and the same goes for cryptocurrencies. Years ago things like these would be impossible without the internet.

So what are your opinions ?

I believe that robotics are very much in use today but in a very small scale. It's only but a matter of time and it would become a very common and popular trend which everyone would take part in.

I can very much remember when sex dolls was really trending but now, it seems to have cooled down a bit but I'm sure it's still going to pop up sooner or later.

I agree with you. Time is flying so fast. technology keeps on advancing. I think anything related to technology like phones and gadgets will really flourish in the future.

Technology agriculture and anything that is cosmetic related will always be set to be successful even in the future as it will never run out of customers. we should as such introduce innovative solutions that are based on such industries.

Yes, we don't know what our smartphones can do in the near future.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes, we will not know what will be the technology for tomorrow or so, that's why it's unpredictable.

I think so too. Kind of like those futuristic movies. They may not even be advanced enough to predict how amazing future technology will be. In fact, other parts of the world are pretty much using gadgets everywhere.

Yes, that is presumably the future business in this modern generation. Everything that relates to robotics and AI (Artificial Intelligence) technologies.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Artificial intelligence is a field where I believe that we have only seen its tip if it was to be considered an iceberg. I have watched some youtube clips of some upcoming innovations in the sector and let me say that I just can't wait for the future to come.

It would be nice to have something like Rosie the robot in the Jetsons animation. Someone who can do housework and also some parenting to the children.

Hahaha this is not an impossibility if planes exist which were even impossible to imagine for the people that used to live in the old centuries. We just have to wonder whether we will be alive to witness it.

Robot will definitely become popular in the future. Developer still doing a hard work to create a robot like human in the future.

Sex dolls are still in the market and many are still using it. You just dont noticed it because they buy it discreetly.

I think that Virtual Reality will play a big role in shaping the future. If you remember The Matrix Trilogy films and the recent gaming film Ready Player One. Something to that effect might be our future well the good things only and not the bad ones.

@Martinsx1 I think robotics will become more prominent as we move into the future. I believe high end, and highly intelligent robots could serve a great purpose in protecting schools, buildings and other installations from active shooter or mass shooter situations.

I would still stick to smartphone manufacturing. I can't wait to see a future where smartphones would come on different appearances, like a transparent one. I'm also excited for the revolution I smartphone cameras as I always want to see a camera that can capture in 3D.

I agree with you, how they can still level up the features and technology of a smartphone.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Judas2018
@theresajane A transparent smartphone? If you think people are dropping their phones by accident too much now, wait until they own one that that's 'see through.'

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

emiaj55
I am pretty much sure that if manufacturers would ever release such see through phones they would include features that would enable users to find them whenever. Great minds are developing our technologies into what past generations could only think of i sci-fi movies. (And having said that, superhero creators have already thought of the idea of invisible transport vehicles. You may view some in here: https://www.motor1.com/news/72193/7-non-car-superhero-vehicles/. Surely they would think of a way for superheroes to find them wont they? After all they can't be late from superhero duties, lol). So by the time they have developed a see-through phone, they would have developed the locating features of it as well.

@theresajane, I agree with you. I think that if technology of smart phones continues to develop, and I mean develop not just its appearances but its functions as well, then I feel like it is going to be one of the more blooming industries of the future. And I would definitely invest in that. Just think of it, what if our phones are not just transparent as a glass. What if you could pull it out of thin air? I mean a holographic phones. ( The idea has been around the internet but a lot of it are scams. But that doesn't mean they can't be done in the near future). That would change our view of smart phones entirely as they would look different, with its physicality and functions. Those phones would be surreal!

So do I. I would love to see what will happen to mobile phone in the future. I want to see also how this gadget will evolve and become more powerful than what we have today.

Around June, I saw an article which claimed that Xiaomi (Chinese manufacturer) was planning to build a transparent phone. So it does appear that it is something that we might see soon enough.

Apparently they aren't the only ones who've thought about this. Back in 2015 or thereabouts the idea was floated but so far no transparent phone has hit the market. It appears that we have to wait a little longer to find out if Xiaomi will be successful.

I think I would just have my own printing business since I see that there is a big demand of that particular business here in my country. I am just saving a lot of money from my offline and freelancing work so that I can have it in the future. I am just waiting for the right time for now so that someday I can start to operate my own printing business.

It's hard to say. Soon people will be doing overdo on youtube. And eventually that platform will fade. And people would join other places. So that is kind of cycle. Digitization, automation, and artificial intelligence will be a factor in the success of businesses in the future. Businesses or even individuals should learn how to cope up with these fast changing environments so that they could have an edge in competing with other businesses. Investing and adopting in new technologies must be the priority of any individuals either businesses or any single person. If someone wants to be successful in the field of business he or she must possess knowledge and skills in the above mentioned field.

There has always been constant new innovations introduced in the market place that claim could change the horizon be them in business, technology etc. I recently came across blockchain technology that many admitted would revolutionise the way we store value and communicate. The technology is said to allow humans to save tremendous cost and time in any transactions that requires third part as intermediaries, be them in finance, banking, health etc. This decentralised ledger would become the norm in dealing business in the future but at the same time also make many people become redundant. Maybe any new introduction is always accompanied with destruction.

For me, robotics and technology would be in the demand in the near future. Our technology speeds up into advancement and people would like to cope up with it. In my idea, businesses like technology repair shop would be a great idea as more people would have been able to have such technology that they don't have enough idea to fix if ever it will have damage. Providing assistance to them would be a great idea.

We cannot deny that technology plays an important role in our society in the past few decades and it grows rapidly. However, when it comes to future business, I will go for smartphones. Virtual reality will be the next big thing I believe.

Everything from gaming to movies, sports and maybe even shopping will use VR tech. Investing in VR right now will prove to be very profitable in the long term because there is a high probability it will be widely used in future.

For the intrepid investors who are willing to support startups, or bloggers and vloggers who want to reap rewards in the next decade, choose the VR niche and right now.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

vhinz
Yup Virtual Reality will be a big thing in the future. Possibly it will be integrated into social media to make the use of those platforms more interactive and provide a better user experience. A virtual dating site or meeting place would be possible as the technology keeps on advancing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Jeane
VR will most certainly be integrated with social media eventually.

Thing though is currently since VR headsets are quite pricey, it might be a little while before we see social media-VR integration. As prices of the headsets drop and more people start buying them, we'll most likely see more sites starting to offer an (immersive) VR experience to their users.

What we see in today's movies about virtual reality will be realized in the future. People will meet in the virtual world. I'm not just sure if I'm still around by that time but I do hope so. This would be a good business for companies developing virtual programs.

People will meet in the virtual world. I'm not just sure if I'm still around by that time but I do hope so.

When that happens VR would change the online shopping landscape completely. Even if you were buying something online it would feel like you really are in the store, talking to the sales guys. It would be harder for someone to sell you a defective product.

Since we are in the technological world I think phone will be upgraded higher than we thought today. If you can play music in watch just like in apple and samsung, we wouldn't know how it will transform in the future. Inventors can create robotic animals or human like, how much more in the future. If we use VR or 3d glasses today to see things like reality, it can be that in the future, they will invent a 3d effect or 4d effect out of contact lenses.

I think there will also be a lot of automation happening and certain jobs that humans currently do will be minimized or phased out completely by machines.

I also think we’re going to see more and more social media presence, and more social media “influencers” (I really hate that term but it seems to be the way of the world!)

In contrast to all the stated possible businesses which are obviously going to happen in the future, I believe that selling trees/plants will also become a major hit business in the future especially that the advancements in technology and infrastructure could also mean that there's a big possibility of losing green areas (areas with a lot of trees/plants), hence pollution and toxic air. With this in mind, there is a possibility that every tree/plant would be sold in a much higher price compared to it's present value in the market. A lot of urban cities with high rise buildings like apartments and condos actually have residents that does purchase potted plants of any kind in order to have greens inside their house and I am actually a bit sad that that is happening because I do believe that it is better to save the environment by giving it space of itself.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
I do think there is a definite movement towards more environmental awareness. I think for a long time people denied things like climate change and global warming, but people are opening their eyes to doing things to help the environment rather than hurt it.

I certainly hope that tree and plant sales increase! It's a great thing for our planet.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaybee19
Yes there is but the sad thing is more and more businesses and establishments are being opened without considering the environment. Like for example in populated countries where there's a large demand on infrastructures for people to live with and they take a lot of resources from the environment. However, I just hope that someday soon, more and more businessmen will be open to the idea that their big businesses are useless without the help of the environment where they take some or for other companies, almost all their resources like the food producing ones.

Problem is that human connection will end once the AI comes into the power. So we can see that business of future has to be specific to humans. And humans have to consider this as a way to solve issues. Ai can be pretty bad for the business in general with humans removed.

I noticed numerous answers here that focus on technological innovation from self driving vehicles and sharing economic system powered travel and accommodation to even area travel. I couldn’t agree more. there may be much else in our lives that technology is yet to clear up, from lengthy travel instances to town infrastructures that aren’t getting any better. All in proper time, I trust.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
Self driving vehicles definitely seem to be quite a "buzz word" here too - I often read little bits about them in the media. I do wonder when we're going to see self driving vehicles overtake traditional vehicles - it's certainly a growing market that should expand well into the future.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Jeane
It might take a while before self-driving cars take over. I'm sure that the auto companies which make these cars will set the prices high initially so they can recover the money spent on research. So I suppose for a decade or so, the price of self-driving cars will be way too high for most people.

Yes i have a point there. Technology these days are really amazing and so many things that are created to make our life more easier to finish a certain task. These will never stop to upgrade and update. But for me in case I'm going to open a business in the future, I would open a restaurant where they can eat all the foods they like as well drinks they love to drink too. Future may come, but people would still eat and and will get hungry for sure.

I think the business of the future will always be anything related to Technology. There is always some kind of advancement which happens in all kind of technologies. I am sure this cycle of upgrades is never going to stop. Initially, we had landlines, then we had the Feature phones, now we have Android smartphones. There was a 2G network, then 3G, Then 4G, now we are going to have 5G. Change is inevitable in every field and if we are aware of every change that is going to happen in the future then we will be able to invest smartly and enjoy the success when it occurs.

I have to agree the innovation always keeps moving. And people move from one to another. And business always goes on and on. And some of the time it can be harder to see the bigger picture. But something else is always coming. As long as people want to solve problems and make business out of it.

When I want to know about business, especially predictions or trends, I usually check respected publications like Forbes or Fortune. I am hoping the businesses of future take the blockchain technology seriously and bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies become an accepted form of currency just like the dollar bill.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I do think that's going to happen eventually. Some countries are really on board with the whole cryptocurrency thing. I am looking forward for a more advance technology in the future. This way anything that we have now can shift their own sizes to save spaces at home or anywhere else. Like for example, you don't need to carry a bag on school anymore cause you have this tiny thing that when you press on it, you'll have access of everything you need in school. Sounds more like of a cellular phone but I'm looking for something that is allowed and could be universally used for daily life. That kind of business in the future will surely be successful. For a more realistic approach though, I think online bushiness might replace the majority of other businesses in the future. People tend to use technology more often rather than any other thing so there's no way around but to look forward for a business related to technology.

I think there will be a move away from hands on business and eventually training for any kind of job at all that is not people based, such as nursing or social work will be Internet based. It is already happening with those scanner things in supermarkets and self service check outs.

I think that many businesses are probably going to be geared more towards providing services like artificial intelligence and automated labor. As more and more work becomes automated, and we face the advancement of artificial intelligence, we’re going to find that we need people who are skilled in repairing and servicing these things. It’s going to bring about the rise of an entirely new career.

That being said, I think the better question is how many jobs we’re going to actually lose due to advancements in technology. I think the manual labor force is going to take severe hits as we make more and more jobs automated.

In the near future, the third parties who usually play the role of intermediaries between transactions will be redundant and phased out. Transactions can be conducted without the intervention or help from the said party as with the new technology such as block chain, people do not need to know the other party in the transaction, people can trade and exchange without intermediaries to facilitate. Thus, in the near future, banks, agents, lawyers etc will not be needed in some of the industries such as in real estate, money transfer, banking and stock exchange etc. That helps in reducing cost and time.

I agree that technology is bound to be big in business in the future. I think that anything that allows people to live a better quality life and allows people to be efficient is a big seller. Good examples are electric cars which allow people to spend less on gas and save the environment at the same time. Business is all about solving problems. Anything that provides solutions, even a basic business idea with a new angle will make money. Technologies like solar are the big business of the future.

It is possible that we will get to that point where this might be something that some people will find attractive, the elite particularly.

Though one can hope it won't come to that since most countries can't work together to combat pollution, there is a probability that things will get so bad that all nations will be forced to do something about preventing pollution for the good of everyone.

I know that this is already happening so I guess this is not exactly a prediction. Online stores will be dominating the economy that offline stores will evolve to offer another kind of shopping experience. Compare a purchase of an item from an online store with a purchase from the store in the mall, the factor of convenience is very obvious. Right now the advantage of the mall is in being a one-stop-shop with the stores, restaurants, and even cinema inside one building. But the inconvenience of going to the mall will defeat that features with the horrendous traffic on the roads.

Business for the future? I can say something that is in the trend. Before putting up a business, consider the trend. Does it have a big market? If it has, then probably that's worth the risk. If it's some kind of a product, the demand should be high. Or it can be something that people really need like food etc.

I using C++ for creating codes for all the automated equipment I have installed in my deposit. It is a little bit hard to create all the codes, but at least you will be sure that everything works how it needs to work, without any errors. I was using some standard programs for controlling the automated system and because it wasn't adjusted correctly, a big part of the door openers start to work slower with time, until their engine died. It considerably slowed down the production in the factory, so I immediately found a company that repaired them very fast.
