Do you prefer a practical or extravagant gift?

I would prefer a practical gift on any occasion, such as new computer or accessories, earphones, camera or anything that is going to help my freelance business. Once I even got two years of website hosting as a Christmas gift from my honey. Best gift ever!

I'm not much into extravagant gifts since if I want something I can usually just buy it for myself. But I love any kind of gift that has a practical use.

I might not mind receiving a really good book to read, such as a biography. I love hard back books, very practical.

I would have to say for me it would have to be practical. I am not really an extravagant person.

Beggars do not have any choice, which means you cannot suggest a person willing to gift you. You have to take anything you get, no matter whether it is useful to you or is useless. Having said that I like gifts that I can actually make use of it, if the gift is extravagant but of no use to me, I will have to lock it in the drawer. Let me illustrate this if I get a gaming console as a gift (let say it was $100 worth), I will not use it because I don't play games. Therefore, I will have to forget about this gift, however, if I get a wallet (which may cost $20), I will be using this gift because I need a wallet.

Yeah, same with me in the sense that I enjoy having gifts that can see and it always reminds me of who got it for me. So practical gifts are the best for me.

If one have excess of fund to spare then I see no reason why spending on extravagant gifts is going to be a problem for such individual, I really won't mind getting such gifts from him since I'm not the person spending on the gift expenses, why should I care?

But practical gift are definitely of more importance as it would always be in constant use for the receiver of such gift and also a constant reminder about the person that issued the gift.

Extravagant gifts are nice than practical gifts. We know that. But for me, I want to give and receive practical gifts. I prefer to receive some art materials or anything I can use in my everyday life. I think most people also want a practical gift. Like my mom always say to me, "be practical". I think that being practical is wise. So everytime there is an occassion, I always buy practical gifts. But sometime I also buy extravagant gifts if they request to have one.

I am very practical. I prefer cash or gift cards on Birthdays or at Christmas. I have grown out of the 'omigosh' stage of gift receiving personally. Most of the people in my life know what I like already and even they mostly give me cash or gift cards for birthdays or Christmas. I only get gifts from best friends and mostly family.

Practical gifts are better for me. I don't mind receiving expensive gifts but it is not worth it if the gifts are not useful at all. Practical gifts are cheaper and affordable . Better to stick to gifts that can be used than to leave in the corner for the spiders to turn into cobwebs.

It depends, like if it's a very specially occasion then a extravagant gift would be perfect but if not then a practical gift would be great. I'm not that rich to give an extravagant gift to a person on every occasions that they would or be having.

An extravagant gift would be nice. I'm getting tired of receiving ordinary and practical gifts. I crave for something extravagant, something that would surprise me that I'll say "Wow, is this for real?"
