Why to avoid eating fast food?

Eating fast food causes an addictive pattern in your mind but in the end all you end up is overweight lethargic and not feeling good about yourself. This is me, so what happened when I ate a fast-food meal? No big deal right? Well it is a big deal because when they hit your stomach good things start happening believe it or not that's that dopamine release in your brain because dopamine and serotonin are going wild you feel great. Oh my gosh this tastes wonderful. It does right for the first few minutes but things are also get going on inside your body that aren't so great. Your pancreas is secreting more and more insulin to deal with that massive sugar overload from the fries from the white bun from the soda insulin does one thing and drive sugar into cells but it does something else that tells your body to store fat. Why else would you eat a meal that big and that many calories unless you're about to go into hibernation? That's what you do when you hibernate you grow big-bellied. Those fat cells actually grow in size they start to secrete even more toxic substances leading to heart disease diabetes and so many other things. All that sodium cause your blood pressure go up to your heart beating twice as fast against twice as much resistance and in your brain. You no longer releasing dopamine but instead your brain is signaling you to release cortisol. Cortisol is a chronic stress hormone that ironically tells you to store even more fat and last but certainly not least.

What isn't going on in brain 30 minutes after my meal?

There's no more dopamine there's no more serotonin! You are lethargic and feeling unhappy. Not feeling good about yourself and that is why when you first eat a fast-food meal you feel great and 30 minutes later you feel terrible.

Would you be willing to try to make some changes and eat healthy food?

After knowing this facts, i really given up all fast foods and enjoying some home made food even if it's simple as scrambled eggs Why to avoid eating fast food?

Well I love having fast food every now and again and I think this is just fine as long as it really is occasionally. Eating fast food regularly or often is very bad for you, like you say.

My father ate very badly for a long time. Lots of Coke, chocolate and carbs. The result is that he became diabetic because of his lifestyle. Fortunately it was diagnosed quite quickly and he has not become insulin dependent. However he had to make some huge lifestyle changes to his diet and his exercise.

If you eat healthily most of the time and have the odd treat you will be fine, and you will really enjoy that odd treat. However if you decide to eat junk food often you are putting your health at risk... and then like my father you cannot have the odd treat or you run the risk of getting seriously ill!

Yeah, the problem is that it's so unhealthy but feels like yummy and very addictive. Too bad that so many people is already addicted to fast food... I have to admit that i like it too from time to time, but i avoid it as much as possible just because of thinking about it's unhealthiness irritate me while eating, no matter how yummy it is... :/

Oh I can do it every now and then no problems but if I eat fast food too often I start to feel heavy and ill if that makes sense? That like carb food feeling. I start craving greens and veggies. I am fortunate in that I absolutely love salads and things like avocados! So if I have burgers too often I don't crave more burgers, I start craving avo!

I agree with you but here in America people prefer taste over health 90% of the time. Its funny that you mention addiction with fast food, President Putin in Russia feels the same way about it and i agree. Mcdonalds, Burger King, Wendys they all pout so many chemicals and additives to the food that it becomes addicting. The food is not the only problem the fact that its so easy to drive thru and pick up food within a few minutes is also a problem. People who are always on the go are more susceptible to this kind of lifestyle. This fast food is crap for your body and it takes longer to digest than regular food. This is a good topic thank you for sharing.

I used to eat whatever I wanted without any side effects. For a few years now I started getting those effects, in a visible way, lol. I'm getting fatter and I always used to be skinny.

So yes, I really need to change my diet and eat healthy. I don't believe you should quit eating something you like, just do it responsibly and exercise more!

I'm probably one of the people who prefers taste over health even though I'm aware of side-effects and things like that. However, I don't eat burgers or pizza eleven times per day or week, but I do eat a lot of pasta for instance. - And I do it because I'm a "Pastafarian".

I don't eat fish for instance, even though I should.. And I drink tons of Energy drinks, even though I shouldn't.. - And I know it's bad for me. And yes, I do care. I don't want to become a super-fat guy who can't even sit in a chair without breaking it, but I just can't stop, because I don't care enough. - Well something like that, I suppose.

I don't know why I do things the way I do. Perhaps I'm just a bit ignorant but it's the way I am. I want to be healthy but I don't want to stop drinking energy drinks or eating candy or other "garbage" either. I want it all at the same time kind of.

I think minding what one eats has to do with age. I do not care to eat fast food at places where qualified cooks are employed. I know for sure that if I am getting older, I should reduce my intake of various food, but for now, I do not see anything with taking fast food

Being a foodie you end up taking lots of junk food, it starts slowly and finally, you are hooked. Though you can manage to control the urge and temptations of fried or baked food is always strong. If you eat the junk you end up punishing yourself in the gym working out to burn the extra calories. With discipline, you can manage to avoid the junk.

Making food on an industrial level is never going to be healthy, the only benefit goes to the company's wallet, sure any thing salty and greasy would taste good, the trick to quitting fast food is to see one of those documentaries on the subject and you'll never touch a Macdonald again.

It's cheaper but it causes a lot of cancerous factors to affect our health. I really avoid eating at fastfoods during lunch break that's why I always bring a packed lunch.

It has many preservatives that may cause harm to your health. You can eat it maybe once in a month but if you do it everyday, man you are risking your health. Fast food, particularly french fries is said to be one of the food that contains high amount of preservatives which we should avoid.

You should always avoid eating fast because when you eat fast, you will be swallowing food without proper chewing. When food is not chewed properly, your digestive system will have to work hard to break down the food particles.
When you are eating fast, you will be taking more food than you actually require, eating more food means you will put on weight. gaining weight is never a good thing unless you are a skinny person.

Well I find this post very helpful because I am fond of eating in every fast food available in our city. My belly fat now is very happy and bloated. I also forgot to took care of myself by eating too much, so I got really fat. Thanks for this information and I would like to make a change in my eating routine. Thanks again.

I love eating fast food but it's not good to our health because it has many preservatives on it that can cause cancer and also some chemical food flavoring not good to our health maybe sometimes we can go out for a fast food but eating daily in fast food will kill us sooner. so my advice just be extra careful.

I know that it's not healthy to eat fast food but we can't help it. It's cheap and it's very tasty and addictive. I guess it's in our nature to eat fast and eat delicious food without thinking what would happen in our body if we eat this often. Thanks for your post.

I totally agree like you should not be eating this but it's so good that you can't pass on eating it. And also, the way they sell it on a cheap price makes it more tempting to people or consumers, like it's a cheap burger and it's not healthy, "so what, it's a burger and it's cheap" .

Eating fast food is ok in moderation. Also many fast food places now sell salads and Subway for example - is based around subs which contain healthy ingredients such as lettuce and - tomatoes. Which in the case of the latter - reduce heart disease and cancer. While producing much needed vitamin C. So there are much healthier fast food options out there nowadays than fried food or burgers.

I really love your description. You have put all the disadvantages of eating fast food in a short story that will help in convincing fast food addicts without attacking anyone. I also like fast food but I always consume them once in a while. I have totally abstained from soda but I can consume once to thrice in a year. Being aware of the dangers of fast food is enough to prevent me from consuming them daily. French fries is my favorite fast food and I know it is the sauce we add while eating it that makes the whole food not good for the health.

Thanks for reminding us with the sweet tooth to stay away from junks or fast food.Personally, mine is a case of the spirit is willing but the body is weak. I know of these dangers and benefit of eating clean but sometimes the body is not loyal craving for all sort of surgery things.It pertinent we do away with fast food because of the myriad of diseases that comes with it and obesity.

My take on this is everything in excess is bad and anything in moderation is good. If your diet consists of 80? Fast-food then the health risk would be high against a diet that consists of 20? Fast-food.
Now if your sick and your doctor advised you not to eat fast-food then don't eat it.
